im tempted to get a note 3 because my one x battery is a joke. lats 4-5 hours if i use. shocking. rubbish phone.

Shame that their (Asus) customer service is awful, I recall some horror stories a while back. Not only is a device dependent on great software / hardware but a huge part also depends on after sales service that a company provides and that's where Asus needs to step up.
That's what I miss about the HOS, I loved how it felt in the cold weather.
If Samsung brought out front facing speakers on the Note III then that would be a game changer. Imagine that, but then the whole design aspect would have to change and I can't see Samsung incorporating a 5.7" screen and front facing speakers all on a thin bezel. It's nigh on impossible to do.
You're right you wouldn't stand for TV, PC and other devices with rear facing speakers, so why do it with phones.
Yes sue them for millions, it'll serve them right! My hate list for manufacturers is getting bigger (I'm on a Samsung downer at the moment). Samsung are a very astute company and wouldn't be surprised if they come up with some hype to promote their new flagship phone.
I remember when I had the HOS I used to baby it all the time and take off the case once a week just to check if it had attained any chippings. It got extremely annoying for me. Not a great mindset to have if you have to baby phones, that's what I like with Samsung, you don't have to baby their phones unlike the HOS/HO.
Yes, lets hope that folding screens aren't far off, then we can use the great tech that phones like the Note 3 will have. Otherwise it's just a dream

Unfortunately in this heat and humidity, you can't feel just how nice the MAO body is due to sweat and sticky fingers/hands

Samsung would be stupid to not bring stereo speakers on the front!

Indeed, it's too hot nowadays, a sweat covered device is never a good look lol
Look to HTC to innovate and everyone else follow, so yes next year Samsung may well move to front facing speakers and non plastic materials.
I understand, the HOS felt much better without a case, you're a lucky chap that you've got a good model and don't suffer from the chipping issue.
It'll be interesting to see what Samsung do with the Note 3, IMO it'll be much better than the S4 features wise and talk of a xenon camera would be the icing on the cake. They always seem to cram better features into the Note series than the Galaxy range and in that regard the Note series is Samsung's true flagship. I certainly hope they don't pollute the Note series like they have with the Galaxy S range.
You wouldn't want to see what my screen looks like after touching it during this heat let alone use the phone!
I personally don't think we will see a lot better of a device compared to the gs4 (in real world usage) except the obvious things i.e. bigger screen, better battery life, stylus and perhaps some other stuff like xenon flash and then extra stuff included in touchwiz specifically for the stylus etc. Although with sony and HTC bringing a phablet out as well now, who knows, maybe Samsung will up their game considerably especially after the GS 4 reviews compared to the htc one.

I can imagine what your screen looks like if it's anything like mine then it's probably very yucky and gunky. My lint cloth has been working overtime over the last few days lol
Fair point to make, but the Note 3 will have some nice upgrades over the S4, Samsung always seem to put some juicy features in their Note series if it's not hardware they manage to include some nice stuff in their software which always makes me pretty envious when I have a Galaxy series phone! I wish my hands were big lol
I hope they don't go the same route as per the S4, Samsung are shooting themselves in the foot if they do. They already have the Mega series phones (which I admit is fairly average / mediocre specs wise) but size wise it's crossing into the Note footprint.
I'm looking forward to the Sony Xperia Ultra Z and HTC's answer to the Note, even dare I say it the dirty LG word, the G2 looks good, although LG seem to copy everything that Samsung do and come across as a Samsung wannabe.
It's a bit of a shocker when you look at the GSMarena Samsung page, it looks very much like what HTC were doing last year....not a good strategy.
I can't remember where I saw it (I'll try and find it) and saw a comparison between Samsung and Nokia phones (it was a graphic) and it was shocking just how many phones Samsung have released. They have flooded every market and covered every single size in order to attain global domination.
