****The Official Note III Thread****

The Note series has always been the benchmark of the bunch, not significantly but enough to be a decent upgrade over the other flagship models.

The Ultra Z is just way too big. It's corners are too sharp and it's significantly bigger than a HTC One whereas the Note II is not so the Note 3 will be at a size advantage to the Ultra Z easily.

@stoosh

I have given up with the cloth wiping as I just end up wiping it every 10 minutes then :p :o So twice a day :p

Correct me if I am wrong but has the only hardware differences between the note and galaxy s devices in the last few years not been screen, battery, stylus and usually an extra GB of RAM or/and boost in CPU clock? It will be interesting to see what Samsung do with the cpu chipset i.e. will they have both exynos and snapdragon again or just the one type?

Biggest problem with the mega devices is the price, utter rip of for those specs but I suppose Samsung know that people will still buy them at that sort of price anyway, personally I know that I would much rather wait and save the extra £100 or so pounds to get a MUCH better device that is worth that sort of money.

As mrk said, the UZ is far too big for a phablet, more of a tablet device like the mega plus the design of Sony's phones in terms of ergonomics is awful, hated how the XZ felt.

Hopefully HTC will be able to reduce the bezel and speaker cover area for the htc one max otherwise it will be one big phone!

But then again, you have to use the note II with two hands already so its not like having an extra few mm will make much difference :p Only would the pockets be a concern then.

Copying seems to work well in every industry, have everyone copying someone to try and gain their success i.e. as you said LG with Samsung and then Samsung with Apple, games with regards to COD etc. etc.

Yup, it can either be a good move or a bad move but the way Samsung are going about is the bad way imo. Heck you just have to see all the phones released since even the GS 3 or GS 2 and compare to HTC etc. Only one that is probably just as bad, if not worse is Sony! Samsung are supposedly even bringing a android flip phone out

Impressive CPU specs there, although can these ARM chips attain Passmark scores so that we can get an equivalent i86/64-based CPU? E.g. it would be interesting to say "Ahhh! Four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores = an Athlon XP 5000+" or something similar. (just guessing here)

After initial scepticism when I first stated using my Note II, I've not only gotten used to it but started to think that a large-screened phone is in fact the ideal product for me. So I can't flipping wait for the Note III because the only thing missing from the II for me is the build quality (though it's hardly awful :p).

^ I don't even use my Note II with a case any more, I find it feels nice in the hand and is still pretty tough.

Okay if it falls you may be in trouble but I just won't drop it any more :p

Note 3 is going to be plastic too?

Signal propagation, Cell, Wifi, nfc etc..

Little use as a phone without the best possible above ;)

All are very good on the HTC one ;)

In fact, according to anandtech and a number of users, better than the majority of phones that use plastic, in terms of the wifi and signal.

If it is it comes at the expense of clever engineering and extra battery drain :D

This all kicked off because this guy:

Note 3 is going to be plastic too?

seemed to think that the Note III build quality cannot be any better than that of the II so long as it's still made of plastic.

I made no mention of plastic or lack thereof in the post of mine that he quoted, so I have no idea why he started banging on about plastic :D.

Clever design (antenna is built into the metal body, first phone ever) but not at the cost of battery drain. Just makes it a more complicated process for the manufacturer (more money, more time etc.)

Saying that the iphone 5 has good signal etc. too. Plus I don't have any problems with my one S.
