Well, my battery problems are better, but not resolved. At least I can get a full day out of my phone without needing a top-up, but BetterBatteryStats shows that my phone is awake 100% of the time - at least now the Wifi is turning off and saving me a lot of usage.

I'm not rooted so some of the battery options in the above app are locked. Not entirely sure how to work out what is causing the phone to be awake - I may need to post a log on XDA.

I was intending to do this today as it's mostly a problem when I'm at work but 7 hours after getting up this morning, I've used 11% of my battery. At least it's now not staying awake the entire time.

It should be pretty easy to tell what is causing it but there is another app called wakelock detector that may present the information in a way you find easier to interpret
 
Really biting my fist now, i found it for £418.95. I have a Note II that i can sell for £200, worth it?

EDIT - 411.95 with promotion code, and i've gone for it - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 (Black) LTE 32GB SIM Free / Unlocked

Bloody hell that's a good price, sorry i can't say where (not eBay) as i think it would be classed as a competitor

Is it simply electronics?

If so I'll think about getting it from an ocuk competitor who actually have customer service! Possibly ocuk's main rival actually!
 
God, this phone is so good. TRIM support has been such a big feat in the recent android updates; I think it's one of the most underated features since it made it's appearance, and it's doing a stellar job of not slowing down this device at all. Then again, the hardware on this is unbelievable too, but it's best of both worlds.

I've now downloaded this app too. Really struggling to identify why the bloody phone just won't go into a deep sleep. I'm going to check again tomorrow night when I get in and have had a full day with this app running.
 
Can anyone on here recommend a car mount for the Note3 :confused:

I would prefer one that doesn't stick to the window as from experience with the colder weather, the sucker doesn't really give me any confidence it will hold my newly acquired phone.

Have to say tho.... FANTASTIC phone.
I migrated from iPhone's to Nexus 4, then Nexus 5 and now this and I LOVE it.... :D

Any potential buyers don't delay.... they really are THAT GOOD !

have a look at the ibolt, there is a specific model for the note, I have one and it's a really good bit of kit. It does use a suction mount but it is better than any other have used. I don't know what the sucker is made out of but It seems naturally sticky, even after I released the suction it was quite an effort to get it off of the windscreen.
 
cheers WILD9, I will have a look out for one of them from the usual places.

I don't plan on using a case on my Note3 so this looks a pretty good shout :)

Still think I would prefer a vent mount tho... but if you say they're pretty good then I will definitely give it a whirl.
 
Vent mounts would block the air though or overheat the phone when you have the heat on, I wouldn't want that!
 
I only have the vents aimed at my screen usually... like you said I wouldn't want to pass hot air over my precious handset either.

I would definitely sacrifice turning vents off rather than sticking it to my windscreen and it falling off at some point. That would be a nightmare, especially without a protective case fitted.
