yes , would be very inconvenient if only the usb3 fitted, when there is always access to a usb 2 charge cable around

My battery drain is fixed, it was the whatsapp media being backed up on to the SD card.

My battery life is awesome. Currently 4 days and its still going!.......

I should add its a Nokia 100 or something I have as a spare whilst I send my N3 off for a replacement screen!

Honestly tempted to pick up a Moto G as a stop gap but have a feeling I'd keep the moto for the cost difference!
 
Found a shop that will replace the screen for £55, I'm not too good with the prices of these kinda things, is it worth it?

All done, installed and nothing odd experienced (yet!)

anyone notice a difference in SQ after KitKat ?

I'm sure, near positive that Spotify now sounds far far better than it did in 4.3 - it was immediately noticeable

either before Spotify wasn't syncing at "extreme quality" properly, or KitKat has definitely changed the way the "DAC" is addressed from the OS

before - I was very disappointed with anything played via stock player - including Spotify (which I think plays "through Android" so to speak), yet Poweramp and Neturon sounded pretty good

Spotify and others - sounded weak, poor - not great compared to my Iphone 4

it now sounds as good - if not better than my Iphone 4
 
KitKat introduces direct to DSP audio tunnelling as opposed to going via the main processor of old --this gives longer listen times as it's more power efficient-- but that should not change sound too much if at all in most apps. I guess Spotify is relying on the system processor by default and since KitKat it is sending direct to the sound chip on the phone.

mmm interesting - I wonder if it has "removed" a software layer of "processing" so to speak

Spotify was sounding poor compared to Neutron and Poweramp - which I believe effectively play their audio outside of the "Android player"

and Spotify was the only one that used stock Android EQ - vs Neutron and Poweramp use their own - so I'm thinking Spotify audio processing is through stock android

anyway - bonus :) very very happy with the phone now
 
The couple of positive KitKat changes I've noticed so far is the white battery icon and the nice smooth fade out animation when the phone is locked.

Other than that it seems the same so far - atleast there's been no regression.
 
Phones going off for the glass to be repaired tomorrow, been given a return time of 48 hours so should have it back Friday the latest. Using the S4 as a backup and all I can say is I'm missing the Note 3 badly.
 
Think yourself lucky you have an S4 as a backup! I'm currently rocking a Nokia 100. Haven't even received the packaging stuff to send mine off yet :(

i like the green red battery icon and battery percentage. i dont want no white icon!
