I doubt that. Even 780Ti's are still going for £250-300.

So what? 780Ti's are going for that because they are about the same as 970 performance.

Once Pascal comes out then everything will jump down a price window.

People on this forum seem to struggle with the concept of new things making the old things cheaper. :p It is just what happens...every time.

Otherwise we would all be paying like tens of thousands of pounds for a new graphics card by now!

Well they aren't going to drop that much, and it's kinda pointless for anyone with a 980Ti to sell up for the mid range cards.. better waiting for the big ones later this year / early next or whenever they come.

Arent they?

The 780Ti's did, shortly after Maxwell's release and I suspect an even bigger performance jump from big Maxwell to medium pascal than we saw from big Kepler to medium Maxwell due to the die shrink.

£300 780Ti's:

780Ti's were pretty much equivalent to a 980 on release give or take 5fps. Until nvidia borked the drivers in favour of maxwell.

You have to think of other cards. A 980 would be about £150-200 and a 970 about £100.

Doesn't sound right to me. Unless pascal is that much of a jump. One thing it won't be is cheap.

Has this ever been independently and accurately verified? By proper sources I mean, not some people shouting out. I'm asking for real.

And it would make sense for them to replace the mid range lineup first since they still have a strong high end going, and you don't replace that too early.

Why!? The 480, 580 and 680 were all sold off for under £200 when the next generation came out!

Hmmm found something very interesting:

Shader Model 6

Guess it wont coming to 2014 Maxwell 2.0 while both upcoming 2016 hardware Nvidia Pascal and AMD Polaris will support Shader Model 6 and HDR.

Maybe current games with DirectX 11.x Shader Model 5 could be the reason it hold back DirectX 12 performance so it need new DirectX 12 shader model to take full advantage of native DirectX 12 to help achieve much higher performance.

Look at the rrp of the 780Ti's. about £430. There are still Ti's going for £600+. Especially aftermarket ones etc.

Used then yeah id say £350-£400. But i still doubt a new £600 card now will drop £300 in 2 months time.

Unless pascal is that big of a jump. Hope so :).

If the 1070 comes in at £300 or so and matches the 980ti then I will buy a pair to upgrade from my 970s.

Should be a nice upgrade especially with the extra vram in tow

Depending on the games and resolutions you run, you can already get 980Ti or better performance for £300 .. it's called a 390X.
