** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

If the real world reviews stack up its a good price for the 1070, i'm still waiting on AMD tho...

Yeah hopefully AMD make their announcement very soon since this has been an impressive showing from Nvidia. Particularly the price/performance of the 1070.

I'm even more intrigued by Polaris 10 now though, if the rumours hold true that 14nm LPP is superior to 16nm FF+

Ive got a big bells bottle full of coins. Going to cash them in a few days to see how much.
Im hoping enough for two 1080s but if its enough for 2 1070s from the looks of things it wont be too bad

For NVIDIA to price these so 'low' - they must know Polaris is a worth architecture IMO.

Fantastic time to buy a new GPU - I'l try and wait for Polaris, so I can compare the difference, but will most likely be getting a 1080 on release :)

Pretty sure that with Polaris AMD are aiming at a lower performance tier and price, not competing with GTX 1080 etc.

I imagine this is a smart move from AMD, trying to extend market share with larger volume sales than go head to head with Nvidia's top dogs. Let's be honest these new Nvidia cards look very very good. AMD's Vega will be when they step up to the high end again?

I'd have thought AMD wanted to sell their fastest Polaris 10 for $350-400 though.

That's going to be a tough sell against the 1070, unless they have a nice surprise for us :D

Just gotta get some proper benches on these, but I must say at first glance that is impressive. Prices seem good too.

Greg, you wanna hope your Titan X has sold earlier LOL :p

They are definately going for AMD with Pascal.

AMD are gonna have to go some with Vega to go up against 1080. I really think they are trying to bury Polaris.

Be great if AMD can pull something out of the bag that is just as impressive though. We'll just have to wait and see.
;)

@D.P

Yeah but the Titans were mainly workstation cards hence their insane price.

It was so much the price of the Titan I was referring to, but the rumors that big Polaris has performance between a 390 and 390x and they are selling cheap. Well, The 1070 gives huge performance for $380 so that will really force Polaris pricing downwards.

Great times for consumers again.

yea they probably have a major role on the pricing of the 1080 and 1070, all these rumors about AMD price tag, must have force Nvidia to cut on margins, but even so AMD need to have some serious perf well above 390 or furyX, or prices really really low, and not talking about efficiency, if they focused on efficiency speech and then dont beat the 1080 it will be bad.
