Wont be paying any important duty or postage/insurance if it's in my suitcase to be fair. Agreed importing from the states via post is almost never worth while. (I only do it if I literally can't get the item here) But if there in person. It's a often a good shout.

Will see what the costs are down the line.

Yes always a good shout if your out there and you have room in the suitcase. :)

it will not be cheaper than a Ti
duno why that is shocking to u lol

The MSRP is cheaper (non founders edition) than a 980Ti ( or at least its launch price, dont think there has been an official price drop though). That is a fact. People saying it will be more expensive are just speculating.

if customs stopped you and found it then you would end up payig it and a nice tidy fine :)

if its Obviously new then they would class it as an Electrical goods import, and as its that sort of value they will most likely VAT it.

Garbage. You don't pay vat on things you buy in person when a tourist. Never heard such guff. You only pay vat on imported goods. I.e. shipped over.

£650 for a founders card?

£550 for a normal one?

Prices were expected to be higher this time around due to pound against the dollar.

It's getting pretty mad though considering we all know these are the midrange cards of the series.

The founders edition is just the reference card, so far there seems to be no difference between the one nvidia sell and the aib's. Nvidias is priced higher so not to **** off their partners.

Starting at £650, these things better be EPIC! :D

Good job their's a 1070 coming too though...

Do you WANT them to be that much?!? They should be around 580 if you convert $699 to GBP then add 20%. Or hopefully less... 650 is insane for a "small" card, that is almost titan X amounts.

so what people thought for a 1080 of £400-450 = £600-650 in reality :D

that means the 1070 if as quick as they saying will be min £400 -£500

can just see rubber gloves & the lube dispensers getting ready for serious action :D

Let's face it, they could charge £1K and it would STILL sell out. Fools and their money are easily parted. Would be a massive outcry and riots if they did price it so high of course, but it would still be staggering the number of people willing to fork their money over.

I've always suspected £650 for 1080 and £450 for 1070 on launch, for FE editions. We may see AIB cards less, but my suspicion is only the cheapest of the cheap brands will be anything close to the MSRP. The likes of EVGA, MSI etc. will add 'features' that bump the price up. As always, first adopters will get hit the hardest with price gouging and new shiny inflation. Best wait a couple of months for things to settle down and you may get a free game or two. :)
