haha! I'm waiting for the AIB releases, Then i will sell it when the Ti is released then and lose £40 - £50.
If you are happy to lose £50 every 6 months on gpu hardware its easy to have the latest gpu on release date, its when you miss a generation you lose too much money.

Surely if you miss a generation then you've had about 2+ years worth of gaming for your money?
Yes its crazy at the moment on fleabay
the site is flooded with 900's seen some 980 ti g1's go for as little as £350
this will change once the new cards are released then the 2nd hand price will increase ...but this all depends what the release price of the 1080 but i am certain they will be over £550 at least ...
But you never know
one things for sure this is the prime time to pick up last gen cheap very cheap.

im wondering if its just best to Keep buying the "mid" ranged card from a pure perf/time/cost perspective

This is what I do, although with a mix of buying the previous generations top card at the silly low fire sale prices
. You still end up with the faster card for around the same period as the Ti buyers do, but they generally cost a bit less.Why would you pay more than £350 for a 980ti when Nvidia "claim" that the 1070 will be faster than a Titan.

You wouldn't. If the 1070 is faster than the Titan X, used 980Ti prices will have to go near the £250 mark.

Not always. People wanting a 980Ti for SLI etc will pay for them. At that point the pricing of the 1080/70 doesn't matter. This will go on for a month or two after launch.
1070 launching at £375 don't forget. At equal performance, possibly less in areas won't drive the Ti down to £200.
780Ti's are STILL going for £150-200 on eBay.

what i am stating...
this is the dip just before the new cards are released as the fleabay is flooded and why there is 980 ti's going for less than £350. So its a great time to buy last gen ..
people that think that the 1080 is going to be less than £500 are in for a shock ...but like i said before who knows ...
But my bet is on the 1080 being over £550+
so the question is once we have real tests how fast is the 1080 over the 980ti if its only say 20 to 25% then is it really worth paying £200 + just for that % ...never mind the 1070
then peeps will more likely be scooping up them 980 ti's for £350 or less
Then there will be less of them and the 2nd price will increase not by much but will see....its happened many times before with previous gens.
