Agreed. I think the price is putting a few people off and in doing so, they look at whatever they can to make the card less appealing (a natural reaction) and those who are getting a 1080 tend to look the opposite way and look for all the appealing points. You will also have your fanboys who will never ever see anything good about either brand as well and as an example, NVidia could release a HBM2 card that has 4960 cores, twice as fast as an overclocked TX but hits 90c and they would only look at the 90c part and then keep on about that.

Agreed, i'm also at a loss as to why people moaning about the cards getting hot when you deliberately clock the hell out of it... Yes it will get hotter, this is why water cooling exists so you don't need 100% small diameter fans.
Been waiting on getting a few of these to replace my single 980Ti in a full block, probably going to see what the manufacturers have to bring out but ultimately i'm going to get a pair... If the 1080Ti/TX blows it out the water in 6 months i'm cool with selling them at a small loss and upgrading. Its just how technology advances.
