Agreed. I think the price is putting a few people off and in doing so, they look at whatever they can to make the card less appealing (a natural reaction) and those who are getting a 1080 tend to look the opposite way and look for all the appealing points. You will also have your fanboys who will never ever see anything good about either brand as well and as an example, NVidia could release a HBM2 card that has 4960 cores, twice as fast as an overclocked TX but hits 90c and they would only look at the 90c part and then keep on about that.

Funny old world lol :D

Agreed, i'm also at a loss as to why people moaning about the cards getting hot when you deliberately clock the hell out of it... Yes it will get hotter, this is why water cooling exists so you don't need 100% small diameter fans.

Been waiting on getting a few of these to replace my single 980Ti in a full block, probably going to see what the manufacturers have to bring out but ultimately i'm going to get a pair... If the 1080Ti/TX blows it out the water in 6 months i'm cool with selling them at a small loss and upgrading. Its just how technology advances.

It's the way humans are, make something great and eventually there will be a person who wants to find fault with what you made, not to improve but to simply have their opinion heard :P

I don't think it is something that is inbuilt. I can see us growing out of it eventually, but not anytime soon. Not in a monetary system we have now, but more likely in something like a resource based system in the future.

He's not just dreaming he's in a deep coma it seems.

Adding more power will not give anything more than what these cards are giving right now, the only thing that will happen is the new coolers will keep the temps down and the clocks more stable at the higher end, so far the card throttles like crazy and is up and down with its clocks. The temps may have something to do with this but again a new cooler with 2 8pins will not make them much faster just cooler and more stable so they don't throttle so quickly.

The Nvidia hype bubble has been burst and the lies are now showing as we all see, 67c @2.1ghz ... LOL they really pulled a fast one there... That card was sat next to an air conditioner or water cooled.

It has a 50% increase in clocks and 25% average increase at all resolutions. It is also terrible still at 4K and some benchmarks even show the 980ti is better at 4K as the minimums don't drop as much.

A lot of the benchmarks are showing minimums on a 980ti are better than the 1080 ... make sure to read all the benchmarks not just the average FPS the Min FPS is important too, unless you like stutter and slow downs because of the large FPS gap from max to avg to min.

Not impressed with this card at all, it's a mid range part sold at high end part prices, £620 for a reference mid range top part is not just silly but utter stupidity...

So the 1070 will be easily £450+ at this rate and the 1080Ti will be £800 +/-£50

In short a 980ti oc model = 1080 stock. So the 1070 is not going to match a Titan X... not a chance ... Nvidia.... hype ...

This & This

Nvidia are taking the **** with this price people do need to WAKE up... What is happening here is nvidia create an high price for the founders then when the partners boards come in at say £589.99 which again is still pricey..then everybody thinks that's a great price and buy ...saved my self £20 £30 :(

The 1080 is a great card.

The no FE editions will not be 600

Its the fastest card available.

I can do what I want with my money.

Hardware is a hobby...Let people who enjoy their hooby get on with it.

I'm looking forward to improved performance on my X34...Wait that cost be 800 quid...Is X34 not worth it now for some?

People really need to look at the facts and wind it in if they are disappointed

a: They can't afford one
b: They can't afford one
:p

Oh I can afford one no problem. I could easily buy two for sli.

However, I won't be ripped off, milked and price gouged.

I'm not a sucker ;)

For £619 they can keep it.

Back at it again ;)

Pretty sure you understand there is a lot more to it than just "can't afford it". Though obviously for some that will be the case :(

There's no need for that. You were on the fence and a week or so ago were saying how the 1080 is a waste of money for anyone with a 980ti.
Bit hypocritical to now start flinging posts like that at people.

He just goes with what he feels in that moment it seems. Lol.

Did I?

Don't think I did....

I said it was pointless to wait for new tech... And got flamed for it...Now people are clicnging onto their 980ti's

So I'm right yet again.

You lot are to easy

NEXT:D

There really is no point complaining, the 1080 is a strong card that I think will sell pretty well. Those who will want it will get it, those wanting a cheaper card will go for the 1070 and the others who want more power will wait for the 1080ti or AMD's future GPU
