** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

It was an interesting NVidia press conference, showing off the new autonomous driving stuff, Two Pascal Tegras out performing a TitanX by a lot in the deep learning field.

No news on Pascal at all. Looks like Nvidia is turning into a car component manufacturer.

Lots of people on the live stream text were not happy. One posted said it best.

I think this presentation would have been better suited for the auto show

That about summed up Nvidia at CES :(

Nvidia could have issues with Tegra anyway, they not only lost their own case but it looks like in the counter suit from Samsung they've been found to have infringed on three of Samsung's patents around memory/bus ideas.

So we'll see what happens with Tegra, will Samsung force them to pay through the teeth to licence them, will they attempt to get injunctions against them shipping products that infringe on the patent, what Nvidia tried to do with Samsung products in the original suit? Will car manufacturers stick with Nvidia Tegra options if there is a genuine chance they won't be allowed to ship cars with that chip into certain countries.

A licensing fee which might be best case scenario might still kill off Tegra, considering Tegra makes a loss for them already paying per chip an extra amount to Samsung would only make the losses bigger. They are already basically frozen out of tablet/phones except in designs they buy as they've screwed over ever partner they had. How long till the car manufacturers get burned and turn their back. As I understand it a lot of customers already moved away from Nvidia in the car field, same old story.

Lol, hopefully get some Pascal Desktop info soon. Come on let's have some info on some actual new hardware.. I bet we have to wait for more 28nm cards to be released first, GTX 960 Ti yawn..

28nm has been milked to death, resurrected and then milked to death again :P

Maybe tesla motor will team up with Nvidia as the naming scheme matches tbh.

Tesla car with volta chip a match made in electrical heaven tbh.

The first new Tegra product “DRIVE PX 2 consume 250W of power. Granted it’s a 4 GPU design but still 250W!!! Is that a new “mobile” record?

Its no wonder NVidia are doing so poor in the car manufacturer world. Its looks like NV are going for brute force while competitors are going for efficiency and elegance.

So realistically when will the high end Ti be released? Anyone think they will release the Titan first then the Ti shortly after like they did last year?

Will wait though and see who is best out of AMD & Nvidia again, hoping for some big improvements, over 50% faster would be nice but I'm not exactly sure what people are expecting.

That's too far away. Cmon nvidia even a little bit of news would be better then nothing at all??

Typical of Nvidia really, they always keep schtum and only tell you about something when they have it. I also would love some info but hey ho, money sits in the wallet waiting.

Dont know about a massive fail, but I do agree that their car stuff should be different, like Nvidia Auto or something like that.
How is it anything but am massive fail? Its a mobile product that consumes the wattage of a high end desktop card breaking records in a bad way for the most inefficient mobile chip on the market. All the while running at a massive loss and failing to capture much market share.
