GP108 could be AMD worst nightmare If GP108 can overclocked to achieve GTX 970 level performance to play VR without issues.

You forgot price. Especially considering there will be much competition at that price point (if rumours are to be believed), if they much up the price and get beat on price to performance by AMD ala 960 vs 380... it's not quite a nightmare for AMD. But at least this will put pressure on them to price Polaris well.

Is the rest of the EU just as jacked for prices? Because there is no VAT on a EU purchase.... just saying.

EU prices already have the 20% VAT. That said you can sometimes get items a bit cheaper if you buy form the EU, but the bank might charge you for paying in Euros. Last year I paid ~£40 for something that went for £60 here in the UK, and a little extra for paying in Euros. Though I swear we shouldn't pay it because we're part of the EU? I dunno.

Well the non FE 1070 is touted at $349, so put that into exchange rates and it should be under £300 without gouging.

not really, thats for the reference design, for their custom coolers you will still get the ugliness of the clown facing you in all it's glory, they have 4 clowns i think orange, blue and red, changing according to the gpu tier or cooler tier.

Well that's good to know ....you pay more but get the clown in the shadows as CAT-THE-FIFTH puts it ...i do not know what's worse the price or the shadow clown

pay less and may end up with the clown in any assortment of different colours

Yep, paid £540 for each of my 780's.

Want to get shut and buy a 1080, but I set my price limit and they are a little over. Will wait a month or three see if any £ drops come.

It's not made up, it's in line with the price jump of previous new architectures too.

We were just daft to think that they wouldn't raise the price that much..
