Why? Why would anyone buy one of those instead of the 1080?
At least the 980ti is around £500 which puts it below the 1080 in performance and in price. Same with fury X, similar price point.
There are people who run 4K monitors and higher resolutions who want the extra VRAM.
12gb of VRAM and 4 way SLI, something that the 1080 can not match.

I thought the 1080 could do 4 way with some sort of unlocking code? And doesn't it at least equal the titan at 4k (or get very close at least?). Forgive the noobish questions. Do any games even support 4 way SLI?
Not out of the box the 1080 won't.
Yes there are games that do 4 way SLI.
I don't know if there will be any games that will support 4 way on Pascal as this would mean different drivers to Maxwell.

No. The "double a titan x" was in reference to VR.
The "matches 980SLI" for the 1080 and the "faster than a titan x" were in reference to normal gaming.
lol. No one is going to want a 980Ti for near £400 once the custom 1070's come out and release price gouging has stopped.
There are plenty of games that do scale well too.
probably not. It is completely dependant on the 1070 performance. Which is looking like it will be on par with a Ti.
Also not forgetting plenty of people would be willing to pay to go 980Ti SLI.
My Ti's will be sold before the 1070 is released so not worried

$699 = £482 pounds... & £649.99 = $443.99 or there abouts.

UK price is £619 for all the brand's FE 1080's. OCUK's price is £650 for the Asus one
.In the UK we have to pay VAT and gouging!
