** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

I really was big time. Being impatient again and getting ref or FE just because. made that mistake last time. This time nice custom pcb, dual 8 pin, triple custom bios.

Feel far better now paying the same or a touch more/less for a propper card that is designed to overclock. Waterblocks on these and well...:p

Will see me through to 4k 144hz easily.

Oh yes! although I haven't ordered the classy 1080 I've ordered the FTW model instead, I had a classy 980 Ti and it wasn't any better than the FTW cards I were seeing hitting the same clocks as me.
Having said that I sold my 980 Ti for £500 6 weeks ago which I had bought for £580 with 4 free games witcher 3, metal gear solid, batman and dying ligt , and I got my 1080 FTW for £597 so if you value the games at £20 each that's £80 so the upgrade has cost me £17 which if you ask me is fantastic as the 8gb Vram will definitely help on my 4kk monitor as well as the extra horsepower of the gpu :D

Will have to wait and see. For me mainly the classified due to the almost certainty EK will be making custom waterblocks for them.

Shouldn't cost too much more anyway. I havent made my mind up yet, waiting for some more input from FE owners before I make a decision.

Still on the fence. May possibly be sticking with my Ti's.

Why are some of the 1080 cards coming with both 8 pin and 6 pin connectors?

Allows you to theoretically pull more power and in turn possibly stabilise higher overclocks. Quiet a number usually do. Gtx 970s came with single 8 pin, single 8 pin + 6 pin or even dual 8 pin. Normally come on various flavours

Only time will tell if two are a really needed for pascal.

So it's best to go for one's with both connectors?
