^ Sounds like the issue with the zotac 980 ti amp cards last time around where they would randomly spin up to high revs then settle down. Seemed to be a hardware issue as bios revisions didn't do much.

I remember those drivers causing a ~10C increase in temps on my 580s but it certainly wasn't fan speed related. I could hear them going at full pelt trying and failing to keep the cards at normal temps :p

Those complaining of 1080s only clocking to a little over 2Ghz need to take a reality check.
What other VC van approach these clocks on air without mods on a standard cooler.
This is a leap forward stop knocking it and buy one or STFU.

Gullible people were going around shouting "2.5GHz for all!".

They need to be thoroughly chastised.

I'll throw my hat in. I speculated watercooled versions could hit 2.3-2.4GHz.

Disappointed they can't. Means the 1080 can only overclocked ~10%. Since they actually run around 1800 MHz in games at stock, before overheating (founders edition only of course).

we don't actually know that yet, the one watercooled 1080 we've seen did 2.2, but being a reference board they had to cheat power away from the memory to do it

I'll be happy with 2.2 with memory running full speed, anything higher than that will be gravy

Mine is burning through stuff at 4k! VERY happy with my purchase (but I know I overpaid a bit) :D

FE cooler is better than I expected too, which is a bonus! May not even need a block for it now.....until I add another :p

Inno3D TWIN X2 is in stock now on OcUK and should be joined by this bad boy early next week:
