Actually it's not, I remember the season when united signed tevez, he went from around 8.5 to 9.1 before a ball had been kicked!

Amazingly by taking Droba out of my team has allowed me to sign both Arshavin (always scores against Liverpool) and Bale for my midfield

Sorry, you remember incorrectly.

Edit: From the official FPL rules on player values;

"Player prices vary during the season dependent on the popularity of the player in the transfer market. Player values will not change until the season starts."

must have been something they've brought in this year then as prices definitely varied that season and I seem to recall them doing likewise last year as well

Knowing absolutely nothing about football I'm intrigued to see how far I get.

Need some advice - Wes Brown or Jonny Evans? Both cost the same.

With Rio being injured presumably it will come down to Brown or Evans to partner Vidic. My gut feeling is to pick Wes Brown because he may play at RB even if not at CB, but I'm not sure what Fergie fancies, whether he'll be looking to bring Neville back or go for the younger, more exuberant Cafu.

Evans will play alongside Vidic

RB spot will go to either Rafael, O'Shea or Neville I would imagine
