You may have failed to notice the wave of anti-authority that is sweeping the western world.

It's not anti-authority, it's anti bull****. The rise of social media has allowed people to share their opinions and facts that often may contradict what politicians are trying to spout.

It genuinely feels like people are waking up and making the government accountable for their decisions and diatribe. Politics is going to have to change, and honestly, I feel for the better.

If you had watched a recent program about the EU on BBC4 when it talked to the people who were there and did the negotiating they knew and admitted it where it would lead but would not inform the public in case of an adverse reaction. This 'we didn't know Guv' mantra is for public consumption.

I've not noticed anyone serious suggest this.

I wish it had never happened, but now that it has we'll have to deal with it. The fallout, including the emotional, is all part of that.

EU will punish the UK (well mostly england in the end) for this decision during exit negotiations. What does England has to offer after it's out that EU needs? NOTHING. You have no idea what you've done.

Eugh, how can leave supporters think this is a good idea? The EU is not going to give us favourable treaties and trade agreements, that would encourage other states to hold a referendum as well. It's in the EU's best interests to make negotiations as tough as possible for the UK now to dissuade more dissenters.

Edit: Google have just reported a 250+% spike in searches asking 'what will happen if we leave the EU?' Granted we don't know if those searches are by remain or leave voters, but how can people just be searching for that now?! Idiots.

Highly likely. Look at Norway. To have access to the EU market and free movement of goods you have to sign up to the free movement of people.

I dont think this was ever put across well enough by the Remain campaign that even if we leave the EU, it is highly likely we will have the same free movement across Europe and that includes when Turkey joins.

It would be Political suicide to suggest free movement of people from the EU now. That's no longer a reality.

in 2 years time when we get to the end of the article 50 negs everyone is going to realise what they have just done, by which time of course it's going to be too late.

Everyone buying Farage et. als. weasel words about retaining trade whilst stopping free movement of people from the EU are delusional. What we will end up with is getting hamstrung with mental rulesbut now without even the chance to participate in shaping any of those rules.

Seriously everyone enjoy the next 2 years and party hard, because come 2019 the party is over and all those delusional halfwits will sit back and go wow, this isn't what we voted for.

This country is has pretty much just committed hari kari. We have go nothing to really bring to the bargaining table that will make the EU willingly give us what we want. In fact it will be the opposite. The UK is going to get heavilly punished with all kinds of punitive measures to set an example to any other EU countries that are thinking of doing the same thing before contagion sets in. We will be more likely to have another EU wide war before we get free trade with no free movement of people passed by the EC

People are accepting that the result is leave but they are free to express their concerns and fears.

Stop treating this like a football result and be a bit more mindful that the other people on this forum will have businesses, family and economic investments that will be affected by this. There has even been a poster on this thread already saying that their company has announced their intention to move on a leave result.

It is one thing to argue a point but another to tell people to stop crying and move on when they are just expressing their concerns for the future. If you dont want to read the concerns over the result of the referendum, why are you here?
