The arrogance of this forum is more amusing than the leave and remain debates by the politicians. The moment they compared Newcastle (University) to Sunderland (working class) for the reason they predict remain will win in one area over another I switched off.

Clearly if you go to university you are more intelligent and the best choice is remain. If you are working class you will vote leave because you are uneducated and don't understand the consequences. Oh and you are racist lol

All I have heard since the vote is bigotry towards the leavers. I have even seen people putting a petition together to get another vote. Not sure of that is quite what democracy is about. Erm we had our vote but it's not what the 48% of the voters wanted, so I think we should vote again until we get the correct decision lol

Right or wrong the people have voted. Change is very unnerving but that doesn't mean that it's the wrong decision. It's going to be a fun few years of "I told you so" by 50% of the country lol

Exactly. London loves to dictate to the rest of the country and takes no responsibility when they screw people over. But they have a tantrum when the rest of the country decides to do things differently.

One is financial contagion which is difficult to pinpoint responsibility for and definitely isn't attributable to "London".

The other is referendum where everyone gets a vote.

These aren't even close to comparable.

Meh.... can't argue with that. 2008 was entirely on their shoulders.

Either way it isn't a game of tit for tat though.

Which suggests you don't know what happened in 2008.

Nevertheless, London at no point has been subsidised at a net level.

Baby boomers, the same generation that also kicked the ladder away for the rest of us after taking the lions share.

Then they further think they need to **** things up more and voted to leave, so great, we have 60 year old fossils with archaic mindsets deciding the future of the country for the younger generation.

The frustration is strong in this one.

And so salty, more salty than ready salted, yummy.

Well played by Sturgeon. She has to act fast before England drags Scotland down into a sewer of debt and economic chaos. This could be the best chance of freedom for the Scots.

How will the scots pay for all the infrastucture if they leave? all the hospitals and UK Government owned assests will have to be bought from the UK of course.

You cannot just leave and expect to take all the assets with you? they are not owed in full by scotland, they are assets of the UK and so a deal will have to be done as to how much an independant scotland will have to pay.

Also how do things like the rail system and airports work? companies will have to get licences to operate in another country and get tax set up with HMRC ( if they even want to ).

Its a logistical nightmare!

And he would've been rightly told where to get off

Agreed, though I'm just pointing out people need to stop thinking this is just sour grapes from the remain side, the leave side were quick to use it when they thought they were losing.

Stupid from both sides

This thread is going too fast to keep up with on a tablet....

"Angela Merkel says she seeks a “good, objective” climate in talks about Britain’s departure from the European Union and that there was no need to be nasty.

Merkel said the bloc could “help them with external borders”, for example, in a bid to allay fears that politicians are not taking the concerns of citizens seriously.

She added that the EU needed to work out “how to make people feel good in a fast-changing world”."

No they would not. They also have a joint claim on all assets. It isn't owned by England.

In the same way they have a joint liability for UK debt.

You can't want democracy only when it aligns with your beliefs, and I voted Remain. The petition is ridiculous.

Well they don't think that far ahead. They just watched braveheart and decided that is what they want.

In reality Scotland will be broke right from the off. They will try to enter the EU but the EU won't be able to support them any more. Investors won't go near them for decades because the risk will be astronomically high.

I think this thread just shows the complete misunderstanding of the whole thing, how can your average Joe make a decision on something like this when both sides were full of lies? How can the actual vote even be going through, it is such a massive change to everything and it will affect future generations but the vote was literally fueled by lies and hate on each side. It should have been done with pure facts from day one, comparing the good and the bad of leaving/staying by someone unbiased.

Unfortunately this is one of the bad points of a democracy.

Our EU membership status should never have been given to the public to decide.

We pay a lot of money for MP's to run the country, and in tern call in experts to help them make decisions.

To call on the average Joe - which as you can see from this thread, really doesn't have a clue of the consequences, is frankly just madness.

If this is true then congrats, I'll just reiterate what I said earlier in the thread.

However... If people truly believe that this was some victory against the "rich" then you've just scored a massive own goal. Prepare to drop your pants and be boarded by the new captain of this ship!

But as i have said before, we can vote them in or out in the UK, where is that choice with EU elite?

hahaha France says they want new prime minister within days, hahahahah who they think they are dealing with, Greece?

Oh I am abundantly aware of exactly what happened. It was just a generalised statement made in response to him.

Yeah sure something happened blah blah in London in 2008, but this isn't some sort of game where people can now say HA SUCK IT LONDON.
