***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

I was telling myself that I had to leave my Technic 42000 unbuilt until I had my marking finished over the holidays. Then the girlfriend was over on new year's day and she encouraged me to start, so I did the first 10 steps or so. Fast forward to this morning and its finished. Awesome suspension set up on that thing, and a very cool kit.

All my marking is also finally finished too...

That's a cool set, I have an old Ferrari F1 that is very similar.

You could leave a Lego set unbuilt for almost a year?

Buy another set nearer the time :p

Lol, yeah...I don't have that much spare time and I need to allocate a good solid day for this.

The Death Star we have is still in the box after 6-7 months. Although that's because I'm not letting my son build it until he can ride his bike properly :D and I'm not interested in building the stuff myself.

The new star wars isn't supposed to be out until December though, a bit pre-emptive?

Also in that article they make the link between wolf being used as a code word for rebels, and in the leaked catalogue image theres something about a Star Wars animated series called 'rebels'

http://www.groovebricks.com/lego-2015-catalog-january-june/

theres the link to where I found that, if you enlarge the second star wars image you can see the advert in the middle of the page :(

Actually managed to disappoint myself over lego lol, here's hoping I'm wrong

e: also did a bit more digging, the animated series has only just aired so it's even more likely to be for that

Yeah I'd expect the 2015 sets to be Rebels based, and then 2016 sets too be Force Awakens sets. But there will be some launched late 2015 to cash in on the holiday sales around the movie launch.

Haha, talking about un-built kits... you guys should see my loft!

I should do a list of whats in there really.

Got the Tumbler for Christmas and have the Mini sat around, so will build those next, maybe after I finish my Quadcopter.

I really hope they re-release the UCS Millenium Falcon for the new Star Wars films, particularly as 7695 is sold out now, so must be due a new Falcon kit. There's also rumours of a Mercedes tie up for next year, so I'm hoping for a new F1 car. Then there will also be the UCS Ferrari F40! Cant wait!

I doubt it will be a re-release as the new Falcon is different to the one in the original trilogy. Stopping the current 'normal sized' kit pretty much confirms a new kit will arrive at that scale (I can't see any way they wouldn't cash in on such an iconic Star Wars ship). But anything else (i.e. a UCS or large scale model) is just wishful thinking at the moment.

How much was the RRP on the USC Falcon when it was first released?

I built the Tumbler over New Years days/weekend.

I did enjoy it and it now sits proudly on the display unit in the front room but there were a few "arrrghhh" moments where things are a bit flimsy:

1. The exhaust at the back - now stays on but took ages to attach it and kept dismantling itself if pushed on a bit too hard (which was required to attach it).
2. Building the "shell" around the cockpit (especially the windows/doors) was a bit flimsy and caused a few bits inside to fall off (parts of the seat/screens etc).
3. Bits that pop out left and right (attached to a ball joint type thing) with guns on were a pain.
4. The two flaps at the top again on the left and right side and with guns feel more like they're placed onto the model rather than attached.

I haven't built Lego for probably about 20 years, so maybe I didn't do it properly.

Overall I'd recommend getting one. It replaced my 3 1/18 scale car models to take pride of place.

Not sure what to get for my second attempt. I think the LM car looks a bit out of proportion. Gutted the Race Car is no longer readily available as I wanted that if the Tumbler wasn't available.
