***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

The 24 Hour car doesn't look quite right. I think I need to see one in the flesh to decide.

The race truck on the other hand looks like a bit of a bargain in comparison.

I was going to get the 24 Hours Racer, but the news of a F40 has put paid to that! Hopefully it will be the same sort of scale as my 8653 Enzo and it can sit alongside nicely :)

I think someone mentioned that it will be a Creator kit, so a similar size to the VW and Mini.

Ah, bit smaller then but not too bad. Detail on it should be much greater too in that case.

Has anyone got the "birds" Ideas set yet? Part of me thinks it's pretty cool, and I've got an itch to get it as I have most of the other Cuusoo/Ideas sets.

Anyone been collecting The Simpsons minifigs? I have a few to trade if anyone would like. Have some spare Maggie, Flanders and Krusty at the moment.

It's the same Theme that the Mini and VW are under, and the architecture kits etc

What's with the roll eyes ?

I know what Mini and VW are....I always thought that Lego comes in 2 parts, the normal ones with Mini Fig scale and Technics.

From that link it seems it basically stands for Miscellaneous, it is bit of everything and anything.

Jesus Christ Raymond.

Jesus Christ Jansey, I didn't know I have to know all about lego to post here.

You guys actually sounds offended...I am sorry I asked!

Yeah a tounge out Smiley would prob have been better. Just a chuckle, nothing more.

Lego is aranged into Themes. Technic is one, Star Wars is another. There's about 30 or 40 different ones. Creator is back to the roots of Lego with most kits making many different models. The smaller ones usually have 3 designs, but the larger ones can have 10 or 15 different models you can make. Creator seems to be aimed at making real world 'things' using standard style Lego bricks.

Edit: 31 Themes at the moment. http://www.lego.com/en-gb/products. Creator does not have minifigs.

Lego Creator is a Lego theme. Formerly known as "Make and Create", Creator started with brick buckets and tubs, then switched jobs with Make and Create, the latter selling brick buckets and tubs, then renamed to "Bricks and More". Creator is divided in two major collections: X-Pods (now discontinued), with small pieces in small containers, and Creator, with large sets of various types, such as dinosaurs, cars, robots, and wildlife. The "Bricks and More" theme is for children to around four years or older, and only has brick buckets and tubs with various elements.

Taken from Wiki :D

Raymond is new to Lego !!! Go easy on him. :p

Thanks :)

I am not "new" to lego, I have had a few sets down the years but when I saw a few, about 5 or 6. I certainly don't know all there categories....

There is a backbone of minifig scale playsets. Almost all the themes are variarions of this style with theme specific designs. The major variances are Duplo, Technic, and the Creator style including Architecture and the tubs.

It's all split out because of licensing, but Raymond is right, in reality Lego is 4 styles, sets with minifigs, sets that are models, Technic and Duplo.

I doubt it will be a re-release as the new Falcon is different to the one in the original trilogy. Stopping the current 'normal sized' kit pretty much confirms a new kit will arrive at that scale (I can't see any way they wouldn't cash in on such an iconic Star Wars ship). But anything else (i.e. a UCS or large scale model) is just wishful thinking at the moment.

How much was the RRP on the USC Falcon when it was first released?

It'll probly have the Square Deflector Dish (Non-military Spec Dish according to my Haynes Manual) on top as per the one seen in the trailer!! :)

I think someone mentioned that it will be a Creator kit, so a similar size to the VW and Mini.

Yeah, 102xx designates it as a Creator Expert kit. But the Mini and the Camper are not to the same scale, so could be any size depending on how the scale works out. Imagine the wheel choice will have some say in that, but they might just mould custom ones for that kit, which I think is what they did for the mini.

Since I plan to get the Simpson's House, it would be only fitting to get the Kwok-E-Mart !!!

Will see what the Tie Fighter and the Ferris Wheel looks like before deciding. The TIE fighter could be epic, as is the Ferris Wheel, it should be a big piece with a 10xxx number right?

Some reason I am don't have much interest in the F40.
