***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

I suppose at least it has some play value compared to the big grey wedge SSD. Still not much though. Can't see it having a big market either from kids or the collectable market that the SSD had. Models with that many pieces should always have 10+ minifigs. Like the lego ewok village, at least for the money you get 15 minifigs. Some of the line ups in these big models lately have been terrible.

I think the thing is I don't care at all about minifigs. I dont even know where mine are. I think it's a better deal than the Tumbler, its a more interesting model than the Sandcrawler and it's something impressive that's not from the Star Wars line.

Yeah, it's not the 22k model and it's not the 5k model we hoped for on Page 107, but I dont think it's a bad model at all.

A 22k piece would be much more than £600. The big sets in star wars are about 7p per piece and the smaller sets 10p a piece. Even 8 years ago the Falcon was just under 7p a piece. The star wars stuff naturally is expensive per piece due to licencing, but I imagine the Marvel stuff wouldn't be far behind. At 7p per piece that's £1500+. Even at a mere 5p per piece it's £1100.

£279 price point saves this set. If it was at the rumoured £350 they could take a hike.

I'm very very tempted, but its not quite as "omg want" as the 6k Ideas set.

I think I'll wait to see one in real life first.

finally finished my tumbler :)

Ahh, life without a kid. They were so much cleaner. :(

I only have the Tumbler, how do you rate it against the Simpsons' house, R2-D2 etc?

Yay! Finally got hold of a reasonably priced Rogue Shadow for my son's 9th birthday. Thank you, Bricklink. :)

I've seen a lot of decent ones recently/before xmas go for reasonable money. I'm only really after battle damaged vader though. Not a fan of that model at all but the prices I have seen it go for almost make it worth buying just for Vader.

Wall-E and a Doctor Who Tardis set are the next 2 Ideas releases.

Will definitely get Wall-E

Can't believe they rejected Ghostbusters HQ and picked Dr Who and companion !?

The HQ will go great with the car from last year! If they scale matches...

Wow all those great looking sets and they go for the gayest robot ever made. What about playability they mention? Are there any kids remotely interested in Wall-E 3 seconds after they finished watching the film?

The goonies ship looks good, so do some of the other models. They will probably go with the piano :D:p
