***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Is that not what all Lego is?

Clearly not if you look at this thread. Very few of the big sets are actually toys. They are for putting on display to make sure these people never get the chance to mate ;)

I don't see much play value in that or something like the SSD, they are show pieces really. The death star is more like a big set that's for playing with in my opinion.

Lego is quintessentially a toy, ergo to be played with. Just give that SSD to a child and see if it's still a model ;) Don't get me wrong, I love the stuff and have had it all my life... I still have the Exoskeleton sat in an unopened box, waiting to be built by me or my nephew (unless it sits there long enough to have accrued too much value to warrant opening the box :p )

Managed to get the Ferrari Speed Champions F1 Truck from Argos today before it's officially out. I saw it on the site this morning and reserved it, store didn't actually want to give it me though as their system physically wouldn't allow the sale before 1st March, but after kicking up a fuss and a sob story they gave me £5 off for the inconvenience of having to wait for head office to OK it before release date :D

Still think it's way overpriced, but as a Lego and F1 fan I couldn't resist...

Not out yet? I saw that in cambridge toys R us on tuesday or wednesday. Along with the other stuff, I have a nephew who will love that mclaren set :)

It's not officially out until 1st March, I was in Nottingham TrU on Wednesday and they didn't have any of the Speed Champions sets, so as always, store to store varies.

I think they are nice enough sets, not ones I would buy straight away as most of the non star wars stuff is available for almost half the price in 2 or 3 months by just watching lego on hotukdeals. Then again we have time to wait, my son still has 4 or 5 sets to build from xmas and the lego death star to build! So I can understand others buying straight away. :)

It's a modern plastic sculpture pop reference art piece for the house.

Is it **** :D

Art my backside. It's the modern equivalent of star wars duvet sets and those girls who still used to have a room full of dolls or teddies. If you went round a 25 year old girls and she still had her bedroom covered in teddies you would run. Unless she was hot, then you would do it after moving the teddies aside and then run :p

What would you think if you went to a girls and she had Elsa's Frozen castle on the coffee table. What a nice piece of art, or grow the **** up :D;)
