***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

That's got to be hundreds, if not thousands of pounds of Lego!

How big the model going to be when finished?

He's actually mad :D, its minifig scale and 6000+ pieces. I actually wanted to make it myself but couldnt justify it so i redesigned it in LDD to be almost as big with 4000 pieces, ill get around to it one day :D

I am mad when it comes to Lego! :D

It was almost double what I thought it would it would cost, but once you've ordered several thousand pieces, you kind of get past the point of no return, so what do you do? you just have have to carry on and get it done!

It's going to be massive, this is a pic of it with the 10179 Falcon, which I already know to be huge because it currently lives on the floor awaiting me to pull my finger out and get a shelf big enough to put it on:

Haha crazy ******!

I imagine it's not that bad as you don't have to pay the SW premium like you would for a bought kit. £1000 to 1200ish?

edit it shouldn't cost that much should it? SW stuff is 10p a piece roughly so £600 then a bit on top for buying individual pieces, but getting them for one seller helps?

I'd buy one for £700 tbh.

I'd have been over the moon if it cost £700

:D

With their standard SW kit pricing per piece if they released it I'd have paid the £700 but I can understand why they don't touch kits of that scale. Even with 10,000 supporters I imagine they wouldn't have sold 10k. It would be interesting to know how many death stars that have sold since 2008.

Oh i dropped in at the right time!

I was thinking about the UCS Falcon etc, and I was going to ask how much it would cost to recreate those with individual bricks? The sets cost so much i was wondering what the price would be like buying the bricks individually? I know it'd be more than th set retail but interesting to find out anyways. (just roughly, of course!)

If Bipolar Kittens let's you know how much the average per piece he paid is then times that by 5100ish and you will have an estimate.

Lol, I've really no idea how much it would cost to buy all the pieces individually but I recently bought 5,800ish pieces for the AT-AT and that came to around £1,800, so I don't imagine there will be much of a saving to be had vs the hassle of ordering 5,100+ parts
