***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Bought my girlfriend this a couple of days ago as an impromptu present (because I'm a better partner than you). :p

3 hours and 40 minutes in (because she's not the fastest Lego builder in the world) and it's shaping up nicely.

I don't think so. But the Chinese companies can buy the same injection moulding systems that Lego use (or maybe the injection moulders are made in China anyway!).

Lepin is getting better with each new release. The minfigs are improving, and now they've even got the Power Functions from Technic working perfectly fine. You can mix and match Lepin with Lego and really, the only give away is the missing Lego logo and some of the technic parts can have a lose or more tight fit and gears stick - but you can fix this easily enough by swapping for Lego or swapping parts around.

Lego supporters on some Lego groups absolutly hate Lepin /clones, even hating on mega blocks and anything not Lego. Its a construction toy, the patents for building blocks don't belong to Lego anymore, and anyhow, Lego stole the whole building block idea from Kiddicraft - so the Danish company isn't 100% legit to be honest. No business is.

Long as I get to make great models, I buy whatever brand I can afford, Lepin are very useful for retired Lego models. Cheaper then bricklink.

That's why I bought the SSD from them - the only alternative (other than not bothering) was to pay a speculator stupid money for a set.

Maybe the UCS Star Destroyer next. I do like the Star Wars capital ships - less interested in the smaller fighters etc

Is there anywhere to sell Lepin thats been built and no longer wanted? I believe you cant sell it on Ebay but wasnt sure if there was anywhere else that allows the sale of it?

A quick ebay search would suggest they don't put much effort in to stopping Lepin being sold on their site!

I've seen them for sale on facebook market place as well. Its a second hand item, it won't have much resale value I wouldn't have thought. Importing Lepin from China - the biggest cost is the shipping, that set that cost £60 is 80% shipping fees.. Lepin in China is dirt cheap - I've seen Lepin sets for sale in China for £20 that cost £60 to buy with shipping to the UK

Im not looking to make any money out of it, but its either sell it to someone else to enjoy or throw it in the bin I guess.

I don't hate mega blocks or other rivals. I hate the fake knock off stuff. Not sure why it's accepted in this market ? Maybe because Lego charge to much ?

I hope they get shut down for good. And I honestly can't understand why any genuine fan would want this crap. You are not supporting Lego at all.

For me if I can't afford it I would rather go without than get a fake.

Nothing worse than cheap skates buying fake Lego and mixing it then selling in bulk.
