***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

My lad and I started on the Mack Anthem truck last night, after hearing how big it was I was surprised by the small wheelbase of the main cab but still loads to be built so will wait to see what it comes out like.

I've been eyeing it up this week as it's £109 in Smyths - very tempting.

Enjoy

Because that's what tyres were like back in the 60's? Small wheels, large tyres?

It's not as bad as the gt3 but they're still odd looking. Smaller wheels with a larger profile is as it should be, not go kart wheels with lorry tyres. The originals must be 15s, these look like 13-14. Gt3 look like 16-17 when they should be 18-19. Wheels make a car and all that, including toy ones.

Original standards were 14s.

Still look wrong. They're a toy and it's about the build. Most things in lego don't work proportionally either which I get. Both cars would look better if adjusted though. The Chiron also isn't right. When they're making these custom parts especially for those models, I don't see the reason not to get this right.

It's the equivalent of the thrusters on the x-wing or the like being out of proportion, except they're not and it looks right.

That's where we picked one up from.

Folded this morning and got it, just completed bag 1 - going to be excellent.

Sadly the wife asked the fatal question "what's did you get me", my response of "the experience of watching em build this" wasn't expensive enough.

Lego is going to bankrupt me if she keeps seeing the receipts!

Wheels are big nowadays, which is why they look small. They look spot on to me.

Has anyone ordered the Mustang? The more I see it the more I like it

Trouble is, storage, literally got nowhere to put anything now - I still have the Mack Anthem and the Porsche GT3 to build, but nowhere for them to go :(
