***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Where do you guys find to be the cheapest places to buy from?

I popped into Argos yesterday while passing (after seeing this thread!) but it all seemed really expensive for what it was so I came out tight fisted and empty handed.

brickset.com is quite a good resource for comparing prices of the newer sets.

Thanks for the link! :)

They seem to just be linking to Amazon though, handy for seeing big discounts but a shame it doesn't compare more stores.

I've been having a rummage about online this morning (woke up very early!) and it seems that the Supermarkets and Toysrus have good prices on Lego sets.

I was looking some City stuff and both Sainsburys and Toysrus were within pennies of each other and in some cases significantly cheaper than Amazon which I was quite surprised about...I might have a little wander over there today! :D

Looks excellent,
wife picked this up for £25 on clearance in Tesco today

That's the full fellowship, just need to get Helm's Deep and then that's all the LoTR from last year - then to start on this years. In case you haven't seen the tower of Orthanc looks epic!

Been following this thread for ages and resisting the temptation to get back into Lego. Then out of the blue the wife mentioned she fancied building a set! Awesome! Might have been a bit overenthusiastic though - all this in a month :)...

Haven't built the 4x4 yet but I expect that to be almost up there in time/complexity with the Unimog. F1 is a fair bit shorter and simpler but you'd expect that for half the price. It's very cool though - I love the suspension and the way you build up the engine and rear transmission/suspension as an assembly then fit it to the chassis - like the real thing :). The DRS gimmick is quite a cool touch too. I would have liked a removable nose cone too but ah well.

Unimog is an awesome set isn't it?
Got mine a couple years ago and love it. The real thing has always fascinated me.
I keep hoping Lego might release some add ons for it for different front and rear implements to match the real ones.

I am not a fan of the random scaling being used, I wish they tried everything in the same scale, so pieces always fitted together. The b wing is bigger as it is meant to be, not due to it being a special offer.
