***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

This is my first foray into Lego since I was a kid (and I'm talking old school Lego with the green boards and red and yellow bricks

Ordered the Delorean and also Ecto1 (damn nostalgia :o)

Been taking it slow and doing 1-2 bags each evening. Just finished bag 8 (windscreen) but it was bag 4 (I think) when the front light and DMC badge got fitted that it started looking awesome :D:D

I find taking it slow makes it more enjoyable.

Quite impressed with how precise everything is with these advanced sets. Even being a little off when building a small segment means it doesn't quite click in when attaching to the main body.

I was concerned about applying the stickers but found having a pair of tweezers, good light and patience is the key.

All complete... Looks amazing as well

Yes I'm the heathen putting the 1955 hook on the 2015 car

I'm hoping it's normal to have a small handful of parts left? Every bag had a few little extra parts... At least I hope they were extra :cry:

Perfectly normal.

I built a good sized little bag now by saving all the extra bits from everything I've built.

That's a relief then

Started on the Ecto 1... First 3 bags done but will go back to my 1-2 bags an evening from Monday.

I don't plan on buying more. I seen the Delorean and had to have it and then nostalgia bought the Ecto 1 as well. If they have any more ones like that, I will but no plans to do anymore.

Finished the Police Station last night.... very enjoyable build over a week... with an hour here or there.

Next is Assembly square.

Did manage to pick up The Mcallister House - from Lego's second run. Interestingly it's in 24 bags... Know what I'm doing for Advent!

Finished Ecto1 last night... Quite a detailed build albeit not quite as "tight" as the Delorean particularly around the doors.

Love the pop out gunners seat action and the little ghost trap that drops out the bottom and out the back of the car as well as being steerable and the radar spinning when pushed along :D

Will await to see if they do any other models in the same era.

Edit: anyone know what you're meant to do with the Stay-Puft little thing?

So I've now started on my ucs gunship. I feel there is a lack of minifigures so I've been looking at sourcing some. There a cheap 501st set going, with 3 troopers and 1 jetpack, but it seems everyone has the same idea, there's loads for sale without the minifigs. So I've then been looking at bricklink as a cheaper alternative, is that a good option as I've never used it before.

So last week I bought the Stratocaster and Sesame Street sets as birthday presents, however my local store had run out of the Easter GWP.

I wee tweet to Lego and I now have both of them on their way to me. Now that's great customer crevice.

Not sure whether to start the Guitar or Sesame St first though.

Arrived this morning.

The outer brown box was soaking wet (wasn't raining on delivery day) and therefore the lego box is a bit dented and frayed slightly on the corners, anyone ever mentioned similar issues to Lego?

I'm not sure if it's worth mentioning, I'm eager to build so if they asked me to return I'd probably just make do.

It would be the condensation in the Wearhouse to van to your house. Its a thing during the warm days, cooler nights and where and how they are stored over night. I have had deliveries many times were the outer packaging was wet/damp. Not enough to soak through. A quick wipe with a towel and its sorted. I usually let it breathe after opening it before I do what is needed with the product.
