***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

The new Forest Hideout GWP (40567) really does blend well with the original Forestmen and Castle theme.

It was a nice build too, that utilised some great modern techniques and parts to create a vintage feeling aesthetic.

I'd happily recommend buying one for £25-£30 on ebay, which seems the going rate, if not spending £150 in lego stores etc to get as a freebie as it feels like great value.

My lego store still has loads to give away.

Where do people generally go to for selling their Lego.
I've a few sets built and some still boxed and could do with a clear out.
eBay seems to be the most popular but I've never been keen, seems to come with some risks. Plus dealing with shipping, meaning I'd probably have to dismantle etc.
Gumtree was going to be my go to but I can hardly find any Lego selling in my area l, makes me think it's not the best place.

Anybody take a trip down to Leicester Square today for the Lego Store reopening?

Was very well organised considering the amount of people that turned up. They dished out timed wristbands to stem the queues (about a 3 hour wait fyi if anyone goes later in the week!).

Got the 40501 lego duck which I think is usually only available at the Lego house in Billund.

They even had the titanic set in stock but good luck carrying that box home on the tube youd need a forklift!!!

Got the Lego Bonsai Tree today, £27 from Amazon after an £8 voucher on the product page and a £5 promo voucher I had on my account. First Lego I've had since I was a kid, looking forward putting some music on later and doing some building!

Was intending to get the succulents first but the tree was too good a price to miss.

Probably a good idea to get any lego you want between now and black Friday.
Prices going up on 1st I believe

Got the Harry Potter icons set (big owl) for 175 from smyths.

Fairly hefty discount

With the Minifigs, is there anyway to tell which packet has what in it?

We’re collecting the Muppets ones, and only one duplicate so far, but is there a unique identifier on the packet we could search for to prevent buying duplicates?

Alternatively, is anyone else collecting and wants a Rowlf?

When we collected them (10 years ago now ) we just gave the packs a good feel and tried to guess distinguishing features. Not too popular with the shop owners but kept my two boys occupied!

Yip feeling the bags is the only way to tell them apart. Although the week the muppets minifigs come out my local Lego store had containers with each of the figures in them. So I was able to easily grab the 5 I wanted.

if you can’t get to a Lego store that will have a load pre-sorted, you are better off just buying them online as a confirmed fig (or the set) and paying the slight premium. If you get any duplicates buying blind, the premium is worth it.

Oh do they pre-sort? I’ll maybe try my luck at the Glasgow Lego shop this weekend. Thanks!

I’m after the set, but also want a few individuals that I’ll put in Christmas crackers for Christmas Day (the MIL is getting Janice!)

It was the Glasgow store I was in a few weeks ago. I don't know if they'll still have them sorted. I picked up the 5 I wanted when they did. So much easier than trying to feel the bags.
