Prefer the previous Red 5 Build. But hell, it's Star Wars so I have to buy it. :D

£209 is a Billy bargain.

Didn’t get the previous UCS set and the price is now crazy, so will probably pick this one up. It’s going to be an expensive Lego year with the UCS Venator and ghost also releasing.

That UCS X Wing looks decent enough but again not minifig scale unlike the Razor Quest, AT-AT and Millenium Falcon so not for me. There's still the rumour that the Slave 1 will get the minifig scale UCS treatment this autumn too.

It's been a blinding weeks for leaks though. Verified (as much as these leakers are) sources suggests a new 2500 piece Eldorado Fortress this summer like the Pirates of Barracuda Bay treatment.

Lego is going mad at the moment. I have collected Lego Harry Potter to build with my girls but the number of sets planned for release this year is bonkers and not just small sets the number of expensiive sets is just out of control. Added to which the GWP thresholds feel like they stepped up. I accept that some of them are very cool but buying £150 or £250 of Lego just to get them is not. Yes you can buy them on the secondary market but that's a lot of dosh too.

The AT-AT and Millennium Falcons are not minifigure scale, not even close. They'd be way bigger than they are if they were.

Is the Razer Crest minifigure scale? Hard to tell. It was not a small ship and seemed to be a bit of a Tardis.

I have the original UCS slave 1 so I'm not sure I will be interested in the new one if the rumours are true.

The UCS Millenium Falcon and AT-AT are 100% minifig scale. As is the Razor Quest.

They may not be quite 1:1 scale accurate to person scale but Lego has its limits and they are pretty close.

The Upcoming UCS Jabba's Sail Barge will be minifig scale too although that will definately not be close to accurate scale as it can't be made big enough.

The Land Speeder and this X-Wing are not minifig scale, closer to 2 1/2-3 3/4 inch figure scale (eg 80s technic lego men) as per the UCS 89 Batmobile & Tumbler.

Went into the garage to go through all the broken down sets I have - been in storage since i moved nearing 2.5 years now. I think I'll end up selling them to be honest as got a wedding to pay for. Got a couple of UCS sets in there too - just a pain making sure i have 100% of the parts... I should as i broke them down straight into ziplock bags... but still!

I prob wont faff about with the sub £50 sets too much as prob not worth the hassle!

I don’t really care about Harry Potter stuff, but I have to say the castle looked awesome when I seen it in the shop and they had the row of shops which looked smart too.

If you’re into it would be a nice collection to have. Those little things are rubbish and a waste of time though imo

I guess that's maybe the difference between LEGO for kids and LEGO for adults. Kids can afford smaller sets to play with from pocket, birthday or Christmas money. They're not splashing out £370 on Diagon Alley which is admittedly very cool. My complaint as a father is the balance is swinging towards the LEGO for adults which is difficult when you have kids that really like LEGO Harry Potter. Harry Potter as a theme is a lot more homgenous than say Star Wars where the three trilogies may have different fan bases so a big release slate makes it harder to "keep up" as it were.

It's tricky my 9 year old daughter wants Bowser (which I have no issue with) but that's definitely a birthday/Christmas present rather than an impulse buy.

There are loads of good sets in the £15-£50 range in most themes.

The reason why these £200+ sets keep appearing is that people keep buying them. They are not replacing the cheaper sets, they are just in addition to. The issue probably comes from kids seeing these monster sets and also wanting them!

Going into Edinburgh tomorrow and going to have a nosey around the Lego shop. Got my eye on the Nano Gauntlet (to go with my Infinity Gauntlet), Optimus Prime, and the new Defender.

Trying to tell myself to not go daft but it's proving difficult!
