***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Spent to much this month, will have to see if I can scrum some ££ next month. Want to save for the Lego Movie Pirate Ship though!

I'm tempted to get Jabba's sail barge before it goes. I had to get the Skiff yesterday from ebay as it's sold out everywhere :(

My son spent some of his xmas money though on these bits...

That will be this weekends work.

Anyone here have any of the Chima Legends?

Looking at the Gorilla, Lion and Eagle for starters, wanted an idea of size.

Hi all

I used to love playing with Lego when I was a kid. My son was born a few months ago and with that in mind, I had the idea that for the next few years, every month I'd buy some Lego for him. I now have four months worth to catch up, but I'm not really sure where to start. I'm happy to spend around £10 - £20 per month on something each month.

So, OcUK Lego Lovers, what would you be purchasing first? I was thinking of starting with some of the Star Wars Lego, because, well, it combines two of my most favourite things from childhood!

Edit: I forgot to add that I plan to give him the uber collection when he's about 5 - 6 years old so he's old enough to appreciate both Lego and Star Wars :)

Lego deathstar or superstar destroyer, save up for another few months, buy it, then build

By another few months, you mean a year+ right? Deathstar normally goes for upwards of £300.

I would have a look at Argos (or any other store - just the first one I came across on Google), there are lots of <£20 sets on there, and he will then be able to have a massive army of minifigs!

Keep an eye out for any sales at Toys R Us/Sainsburys/Tesco as they often have 33% off etc. I haven't bothered buying anything from the Lego site yet as they are always out of stock, or a good £10-20 above all the other shops.

I get odd looks all the time, till they see how well built the stuff is, then i get told later on how they went to a Lego shop and almost cleared the place out :D

Newest build thanks to the missus, loved making this thing and it looks better than the X-wing, something i never thought i'd EVER say!

Totally agree!

Don't get me wrong... I love the x-wing but the y-wing just pips it for me too. Lovely model, great detail and my favourite of the rebel fighters!

Didn't even know this thread existed! Loved lego...think I'll have to get a box now lol.

Do it! :D Why only one box?! Haha

Here are a few pics of some more recent purchases of mine for anyone interested:

Looks good :D. Last year while in Westfield in Stratford, went into the lego store in there....Kid=Candy Store lol.

:D I know exactly what you mean! I'm always bugging the missus to let me go to Toys 'r' Us when we're out and about(there's one pretty close by) to "window shop" but, inevitably, it always end in some kind of impulse Lego purchase.

You'd think she would hate me by now but she bought me more for Xmas so really she's an enabler :D and I ain't complaining!

Finished the GP racer earlier, had never been that keen on getting this model but the £40 amazon deal I couldn't resist. Really glad I did get it as it's been a fun build and some pretty cool bits on it. Hmm.. What to build next? :p

I have been lurking in this thread for ages and always as a lad wanted some technical Lego.

All second hand with boxes in good nick, the 41999 is factory sealed.

Must stop now.

Have loads on my watch list on ebay, could easily have bought 4 more as well :)

Not that impressed at all with the new General Grievous set at all. Although we got it because my son badly wanted Grievous and just to buy him off ebay was £20 so no harm done :D

The set's really flimsy and poor standing.

The Palpatine arrest set is a very nicely built kit. I wasn't keen on him getting it but it's very well designed :)
