Yep I got the brown cherry keys, they're very nice. Might take a bit of time to get used to them coming from my old keyboard. It seems fine without a rest so far
Just been and tried this. I love the simple style (same as the Filco) and the keys feel really nice - just too heavy for me. I stood at the keyboard typing imaginary nonsense while people stared at me.The Steelseries 6GV2 is stocked by a large PC superstore chain so you can go and try it out. £85, though it is cheaper online by about a tenner.

Blues - I'm sure these will be too loud for the family.
Blacks - too heavy
Browns - I like the idea of the tactile feel, but given my lack of typing skill (which isn't bad, but not at the levels of many) I get the impression that sometimes I'll get the tactile feedback and sometimes I won't (as I'll be pressing too hard) and this lack of consistency may make the board a bit average.
Reds - I like the feel of the blacks, they were just too heavy so reds could work, I need to try them.
I've not tried any mechanical keys before, but will probably get a Filco soon with Browns... i am hoping these are ok and a good all rounder...
My filco with browns should get delivered tomorrow, Ill tell you my opinion for a newbie like you who never used a mechanical keyboard before when I try it out, but yea I heard browns were easiest to like and they're the best for gaming AND typing though I heard blues are close.
I wish there was definite. I'd like to try them, but I will type/work (Lightroom etc) more than game, and reds are advertised more for gaming.Sounds like you definitely want reds.
I could, although I would prefer not to need that option. I may be lucky enough to try the switches that are being lent out on the DeskThority forum, and maybe I can then make my mind up.remember, you can return items ordered under DSR so you will only lose the return postage if you do not like them.
Going to take a while to get used to and my trusty old brown towel wrist rest is going to need replacing, but I am loving it at the moment.
Your new K/B looks nice. I may splash out and get the flico wrist rest with my K/B... i know its £50 but recently i have been getting RSI from too much BF3, if the rest helps solve this problem then its worth it.
Please do report back in this thread, will be very much appreciated
I am looking forward to pulling the trigger on my Filco soon. I hope its worth the money!
So... just got my filcos with browns, I really like them, 1st thing I notice is damn its heavy, 2nd tough, 3rd hard to move then once I started typing on them is how easy it is to type on them and the wonderful noise they make when you type on it however if its worth the money that all depends on how much is £120 pounds to you, for me I want to keep it, you will notice a big change from your previous ones lastly I have been using the keyboard only for a few minutes wanted to report back quickly but I do recommend it and I can tell you that you will not be replacing this keyboard for years its like a tank.

Had to use a scissor switch keyboard to fix a computer yesterday, dear god that wasnt a nice experience.Next time you use a rubber dome keyboard, you'll say to yourself "WTF is this...!"
