** The Official OcUK Mechanical Keyboard Thread **

Bought the Majestouch 2 with Cherry browns from the MM a few days ago and can't recommend it enough. Not properly gamed on it yet as I'm in between GPUs but it's just joyous to type on it.

I thought my trusty old Steelseries 6G with Cherry blacks was good, but this is just another league. The keyboard itself is comparably heavier than the Steelseries which is a sign of how solidly it's built. Also love the rubberised feet on it which on my desk keep it rock stable.

OK - just got my Majestouch 2 with blues.

First impressions are very good I have to say but it's going to take a little getting used to.
I think the trick is in not bottoming out the keys as you hit them.

It's certainly got all the audible feedback you could want, especially on a glass desk. Love it.
Luckily I work alone at home most of the time so it's not an issue but I could imagine work colleagues getting the pip.

Quality as others have stated is very good. The keys have a nice matte finish and the board certainly stays firmly planted.

Hmm... not sure about the windows keys but I've got some blanks to replace those with.
It's all looking a little too black atm so I'm tempted to introduce some colour (been looking at Geekhack too much maybe?).
I've picked up the usual red Esc and blue WASD keys so might fit them at some point.

The blues really are fantastic for typing and coding. My speed and accuracy are so much better already.
Could never go back to a rubber dome after this.

All in all a great buy and would heartily recommend.

I just purchased a 105 key ISO WASD keyboard with MX Red switches. I kept it very plain and simple and just went with all white keys. It should look pretty classy in the black chassis and should match my room/desk.

Unfortunately after I ordered it they let me know that they were out of white keys for the middle row (ASDFG etc). So they said to get it to me as soon as possible they would replace the second row of keys with whatever colour I wanted and then ship the white keys as soon as they have them.

I haven't received the keyboard yet but so far I'm very impressed with their customer service.

Ill post some pictures when I get it if others are interested in WASD keyboards.

WASD have had rave reviews on GH, how much was shipping to the UK out of interest?

It was $52.40. Altogether it came to $182.39 which is about £116. Which is cheaper than a Filco. With as good if not better build quality (from what ive read), laser etched keys and a whole bunch of custom options. Not bad if you ask me.

I got my QPAD MK50 with Cherry MX Black switches on Friday. I am pleased, to say the least. It's not at all difficult to typing on either, and I don't need to bottom out as some people tend to suggest may happen with blacks. Of course, its working great in games, usually FPSs that I'm playing, it's much smoother than the OEM trash I was using before.

So I'm comparing it to a terrible old keyboard, I don't mind, I'm glad I bought this. It's working great for me :)

Yea their prices seemed very reasonable the last time I was on their website. I ended up going for a filco tenkeyless delivered for £114 due to the possibility of having to cough up more money for customs, fingers crossed you don't have too though!

Got a little something from Corsair today, have to admit, it is a very nice looking keyboard.

Yeah picking a switch type is tricky when you've not tried them and everyone has a different opinion. Since Im hopefully only buying one mechanical keyboard and I mostly game on it I hope reds are ok for me. I do a moderate amount of typing on this PC so Im hoping reds arent too light or strange for me to get used to. I guess time will tell.....

Ordered a Choc Mini with browns. Damn Chinese new year means it can't be posted until tomorrow. :(

Gonna decide which I like better out of the Choc Mini and my current UK layout Filco with browns and sell one.

Looks very nice! Got my filco tenkeyless yesterday and feels great to type on. Not used to not bottoming out keys but the noise doesn't really affect me. Can stick up pictures if anyone wants to see what I think everyone has seen what filcos offer. Got brown switches and don't have any problems so far.

Had mine for a week, absolutely no idea why this is a Games thread as I can't see what advantage it has for games, but it's just a lot nicer to type on. :)
