** The Official OcUK Mechanical Keyboard Thread **

I decided to get the blackwidow stealth in the end since it has brown switches. I had to order it directly from the razor site though since it can't be bought anywhere else.

Has anyone ordered from the razor store before? How long did it take for delivery? (I'll ask this hear first as I think I'll get a faster response than the site)

I've had my Tt eSPORTS MEKA G Unit (what a ridiculous name!) for over a week now and I'm still undecided as to whether I like it more than my old Microsoft Wired Keyboard 500 or not. I'm making more typing errors that I used to; sometimes I miss a letter and on one occasion the keyboard typed a row of mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmms like that after just pressing the m key once (USB glitch?). It hasn't happened since but it is still one of those niggling issues that hovers at the back of my mind, making me wish I'd perhaps opted for a Cherry MX Brown keyboard instead.

Having never used a mechanical keyboard prior to this one, I had nothing to go on, but I do acknowledge the keyboard feels of a better quality and looks terrific. It's just getting used to the 'feel' that is taking time plus the multimedia keys still do not work like they did on my previous keyboard (with this keyboard they only work with WMP), which adds to the disappointment. I'll stick with it though and see if I do warm to it more. It's not that I hate it, it just has a totally different feel that clearly takes time to get used to.

Hi,

Has anyone ordered directly from the razor store before? I am trying to contact them to get an update on my order but the email address they supplied for queries keeps bouncing back.

They stated 1-2 days for processing but it's been 2 days now and I haven't heard anything. I'm not in any rush I'd just like to have some idea as to when it is likely to be with me.

Is it a UK layout that you ordered?

I've got the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (I like blue's). It's a nice keyboard and I'm well happy with mine.

Not sure of the layout, from the pictures it looks like it has a small return key but it'll be used purely for gaming so I only ever use the left hand side of the keyboard.

I currently have a korean keyboard (because I am a starcraft nerd) so used to using slightly different layouts.

Did you order directly from razor or from elsewhere?

I didn't think they done UK layout for the stealth (although they should).

I ordered from elsewhere mate, I hope you enjoy your keyboard ;)

Just bought a Qpad MK-85 so i could try reds out :) and i'm liking it so far, but the build quality is nowhere near as good as my Filco.

If any one want's a Filco i'm listing mine in MM.

Bad move, I have the MK85 and the Brown-switch Filco. I agree the Filco feels miles ahead in build quality.

It's a bad move though because a red switch Filco will be released this year ;)

I know about the red switch Filco, will probably sell the MK-85 when it comes out :p

The Ultimate Stealth Edition is only available from razer and is a US only layout, but for gaming that is not a problem. I got mine the other week and its awesome:)

Funny place for a keyboard thread in the PC games section,

Anyway i am looking to upgrade my 4year old G15 keyboard and want to go mechanical, what would you suggest for around £80 or just over, i have heard about some been louder than others, i don't want a keyboard that is going to be louder than my pc fans at full pelt.

Mainly for Gaming, bf3 and some starcraft 2.

Would like some macro keys as i am lazy, and would like it to luminate blue if possible to match my other hardware.

Thanks.

The QPAD Mk80 has blue backlights iirc. It's probably around £100 but it's a good keyboard with blue switches i think.

You'll hear the keyboard over the fans obviously, I've had the G15/19 and you can hear them over my PCs fans. You can get rubber o-rings that are easy to put on the keyboard to make the noise less sharp.

NP.

If you are near any good PC stores (I don't think Cleveland will but oh well) then go try a mechanical out to see if you like it first. Especially if you're buying it due to Starcraft 2 because you'll find that it's only a nicer feeling, it won't improve your gameplay.

:)
