** The Official OcUK Mechanical Keyboard Thread **

Where's the best place to get different keycaps from in the UK? Anyone know if they will fit on all keyboards? I'm a bit of a keyboard noob tbh :)

there any real performance difference between all the keys ie cherry black/red/blue/whatever or is it just a matter of taste

Well your typing skills is where the performance will differ.

The different switches are really just feedback and actuation force.

tempted to get - UK Filco Majestouch-2, Tenkeyless, NKR, Tactile Action, Keyboard

been looking for a keyboard for a while now and that's the only one i like the look of really, anyone got one? going to look around for a cheaper one, that's £114 from where I'm looking atm, is it possible to get coloured keycaps to put on it?

I have the Ninja with the keypad and it's AWESOME! :D

I only know of 2 places where you can buy them in the UK and the price is the same wherever you go :(

Expensive keyboards but a pleasure to type on and guarantees safety in the event of the coming zombie apocalypse :p

Spacebar has kind of broken on my blackwidow :(

The bit of plastic that holds the metal bar to the spacebar has broken off on the right so if I apply pressure only on the left of it it doesn't work and pops out...

After a bit of google this seems to be a common problem. The plastic is very fragile.

Going to try and write a begging email to Razer and see if they will send a replacement.

Can still use the spacebar. But it is a slight pain for playing games as I have to make sure I am pressing it in the right place.

Why are the keycaps so expensive? I have seen a set for £75 without the number pad keycaps:eek:, I can buy a full keyboard for less than the plastic caps that must cost about £1.00 to make

Really loving the MX browns so far. Makes my attacks in League of Legends seem more powerful!

I was worried since I had no chance to try the keys out before, that they'd be insignificantly better than rubber domes for a hefty sum.

But they're so nice, worth every penny.

I hope you have your sunglasses on. :D

That's awesome.

I've gone from a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate to a 7G, back to the Razer for a bit and then onto a Filco Ninja Tenkeyless MX Brown.

I think I'm going to get a Ninja one with blues instead, I just seem to prefer the blue keyswitches.

tempted to get a filco us layout just so i can use this keyboard, but would be hard to get used to the enter being so small then :P

never even heard of a dvorak and not sure if I would want to use one, they look really hard to learn to use :P I'm tempted to go for a us keyboard and that would take some getting used to with the smaller enter key and @ changed around, but could never use that o.o

I've been looking at getting a mech keyboard, I was looking at the Corsair K90, but I believe it has red switches, and I would prefer blacks for the whole more pressure thing. I'm not 100% on the benefits of each, but it's definitely going to spend most of it's time for gaming, just wondering if anyone had any suggestions, rather put it in here than start a new thread. Cheers for any advice chaps.
