**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Mine says it's at East Midlands, I got a text from DHL saying it would be delivered today too. Yet when I look at the tracking info it says it's on hold for "adverse weather conditions".... What nonsense is this? How is the weather in the UK stopping them from loading it on a van and delivering it to my door?

Not promising at all. Will have to wait and see tomorrow.

Mate did your phone get delivered?

Got to give Kudos to OP as they ended up delivering the phone on time. Go to go to my family's house to pick it up on Monday. I can't wait.

Would love to hear your thoughts if you have got it.

Yes mate setting it up now. Thankfully they kept their word on delivery.

It's familiar territory for me having had an OP3. It's basically very similar but a tad faster and smoother (read as rapid) , much better camera in terms of focus speed and quality... and double the storage of my OP3. The black colorway has grown on me too, super stealth. Any questions mate ask away.

Edit.. The tapered back is a nice improvement, feels great in the hand and the black is pretty fingerprint resistant. One the whole the phone feels solid and has a nice heft.

Mines been great today, have taken a few videos and pictures and they've come out really nicely although certainly on video the 2x isn't quite as sharp which is a bit annoying. Hopefully future fw updates might help this.

The FPS hasn't failed me once, it's stupidly quick. Apps install in the blink of the eye and the software is 'vanilla +' with some handy additions.

Battery seems good, nothing amazing but will see you through a day of heavy use, dash charge is very good so a top-up in the car for 20 mins would give you another 40% or something. Stays cool too.

Very happy me!

Enjoying mine. Stupidly forgot to add case on my order but got couple ordered and waiting to be delivered.

Can't think why, but the shape and feel from the front reminds me of my old HTC One X a good few years back. But it's certainly quite slippy to keep in the hand without any case.

@Kona Awesome Mate. Glad to hear that it's an improvement over the OP3 which was pretty speedy in the first place. It's a relief that OP have improved the camera focus as well because that was one of the gripes I had with my OP3T.

Black is always a good colourway to go for. Super safe and not flashy.

How's the vibration motor and the build quality compared to the OP3?

Thanks for your impressions so far!

Reviews are confusing as they seem o keep referring to the OnePlus 5 as cheaper and basing the conclusion largely around that, I'm guessing most of them are from the US because here it's not good value in Europe at all, why would anyone buy a OnePlus 5 over a Galaxy S8 for a same money? Crazy.

Because its a Samsung phone. As a package one plus is better and more pure.

I wouldn't buy the Galaxy S8 over a OnePlus 5 for the same money.

I don't like the Samsung OS..much prefer OnePlus OS. I also don't like the edge screen, prefer flat..
