**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Meh to ois, first of all they need to improve their image/software processing, it isn't a patch on GS 7/8, nexus 5x/6p and pixel phones (especially with hdr+ on).

So whilst Ois would be great, it is worthless if they can't nail the image processing part as well.

It's hardly worthless if it will improve the overall image quality. But yes, they're image processing does need improving for it to compete with the best of them.

If they can't get the image/software side sorted then it is worthless.... Everyone should know by now that software optimisation is the key for everything and that is has to be done extremely well in order for the hardware to perform at its best.

There are plenty of phones that have had Ois and still fell short in low light photography compared to phones that didn't have any Ois.

All things being equal... Adding OIS to a camera will improve image quality for the reasons stated a few posts back.

Again, no doubting OIS would be great but in order for the benefits of OIS to be properly/fully shown, the image processing/software optimisation also needs to be top quality, which is where oneplus have been lacking big time but given their tweets and how the camera seems to be be the main thing that companies are really pushing now, I imagine they will do better this time round....

Think this will be my replacement for my battery drained nexus 6p seeing as they wont swap it cos of some light damage to the glass on the back. Jokes it invalidates warranty cos the glass is cheap.

It's almost as if people want it all for half the price :p
The 3T had it for less.

They don't really have any stock anyway. Been waiting since July for mine to be fixed

Huge leak :o no OIS mentioned but I'll await reviews of the device but looking at the specs and looks of the device im very interested!

Camera specs don't look right. Same focal length and aperture on both lenses.

Edit.. Looks like the telephoto lens is gone and it now uses the secondary lens for better low light shots.

Looking good I guess, a bigger OP5.

Though no OIS might not please some, the camera sounds interesting.

1080 AMOLED screen....

Disappointed that it suggests it's not launching with 8.0.

The look in the comparison photo above reminds me of the Nexus 6 size/shape. Guess it's probably about the same size.
