**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Disappointed that it suggests it's not launching with 8.0.

The look in the comparison photo above reminds me of the Nexus 6 size/shape. Guess it's probably about the same size.

yeah - that's strange. Still awaiting the OP5 getting 8.0 which seems to be taking ages since it's been around for a while and being "near" stock on the OP5 I can't see how it takes this long to work into the updates

That's what I posted this morning that went completely unnoticed :p
I must say that edge to edge display is really tempting, waiting for the reviews.

What makes them obsolete after 6 months,. I am still using a plus 3 and very happy, feel no need to upgrade. People always seem to want the latest and greatest when what they already have will do the job just fine.

They cut off support pretty quickly though.
The Oneplus 3/3T is getting 2 years of software updates including oreo, and it has been steadily getting sw updates to have the features of the oneplus 5.

Oneplus 2 and X were dropped quite quickly but that's not the case with the 3 onwards.

^ True kona...

The only reason the OnePlus 2 and X were dropped was because Qualcomm said that they won't be supporting software past marshmallow.

Other than that OnePlus have been pretty good in releasing software updates and will continue to do so for their devices from the OP3 onwards.

Not to mention the X was the ginger stepchild! My other half is using one at the moment as she dropped her Sony. Horrid phone.

That's the thing with OP phones, it only takes about 6 months for them to be obsolete.

The OP3T never included much over the original OP3, the OP3 was not obsolete. But how is that any different from Samsung phones like the Galaxy S and Note series?

The change to the OP5T is a little more obvious due to the display but otherwise I doubt there will be much difference.
