The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

thinking about buying the radeon r 295x would this be a good combo on this monitor.

Yes man, I have that exact combo. 4k gaming is immense, but the best thing is that it drops down to 1080p and *still* looks great for those v demanding titles

But personally I'd stick to your 290 Xfire, at least until the new AMD cards are launched. You won't see that much of an increase tbh :)

You won't get much of an improvement over your current setup, maybe ~15% at best. Wait for the newer GPUs to get released IMHO.

only got 1 r 290 watercooled as i sold the other one. but buying this monitor i would need crossfire again so sold the one i got now and changed to r 295x

I can't believe how good World of Warcraft looks on this panel.

Coming from 1080p, it's staggeringly different. It's ultra clean and beautiful, the UI scales perfectly, and it's like a whole new game. I really didn't expect that.

About to try Skyrim in 4K!

I can't wait to see how many cells I can see on the panel at once when mine arrives!

There's going to be such much room for excel and general spreadsheet activities!

I came from 1440p and was just as impressed. I tried 4K at 28" and it was horrible for normal Windows use. Even 32" would struggle IMHO, so 40" seemed the logical choice.

Skyrim should look awesome all modded up. :D

No offence m8 but that is absolutely horrid!!! I wouldn't have it anywhere near my HOUSE never mind my lovely new 4k screen ;) :D lol

*Please* someone recommend something classy...

Well it doesn't have to be that one, but anything *like* that, not bothered about colour, just want something that's going to be suitable,

You are going to need 200x200 vesa for this monitor, one of those dinky 100x100 stands are going to leave you disappointed and a waste of money.

Ahhhhh! nice,

I'm a noob when it comes to mounting this stuff, never realised there was a 200x200 mount (thought 100x100 was the biggest) then I checked and discovered the Phillips does has 200x200,

thanks mate
