The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Here it is with more colors. It's most noticeable on greys and not blacks & whites. It still affects normal desktop usage. I just have the factory default settings of 100 brightness, 50 sharpness, 50 contrast, 6500k color, DP 1.2. Changing around settings doesn't help such as the RGB values. Only changing the contrast above 75% or below 25% really helps but then the image looks off.

Well I tried to get some images but my phone camera is doing a poor job. None of the photos look remotely like what I see with my own eyes.

They make it look like light bleeds is excessive when it is barely noticeable. Or it show none, or excessive reflections depending upon its mood.

I will see if my digital camera handles it better.

Thanks!

Saying this I am now seeing this colour issue and its greatly worrying me :(

I despo want a much much bigger monitor, but one that works :(

I just tested this and under these conditions it is noticeable. Now I can see it in normal Windows use if I look so not a happy camper considering the price. Though the effect is barely noticeable unless I really look for it, I also no longer do professional graphics work, it is purely for gaming and normal Windows use. So I'm able to live with it.

I should add that this is only noticeable in fairly rare circumstances when you drag one window over another and the background window is fairly dark.

It doesn't make it acceptable for anything other than gaming to be honest, where it absolutely shines IMHO. Though as the thread on HardOCP shows, this is a problem that affects quite a large percentage of LCD displays.

I have gone for it - it should be arriving tomorrow :D

Enjoy.. make sure you have a mini Displayport cable ready !

I'm loving my Philips 40" screen. Finally a screen I can run in 4K without having to zoom/scale the interface to make it readable.

I gave my screen a little cuddle earlier <3

Despite that odd colour issue, which thankfully doesn't affect me in any real way, I think this screen will be with me a while.

Until there is something like a 40 inch adaptive sync/g-sync with better response times and higher refresh.

Likely to be waiting a veeeeeery long time!

Though I would happily go for an ultra wide 39 inch with some sync tech and 5160x2160 res. Think that even less likely though.

So is this one, it has colour casts as outlined above.

So do quite a large percentage of current monitors to be honest. It seems if you go out of your way to show test cards, magenta windows etc then you will see the problems. For normal Windows use it is not a problem. Once in an actual game, which runs full screen and as such has zero problems, well it is second to none IMHO.

As a professional photo editor it may be a problem, for the majority of normal users it isn't a problem. Of course if this kind of thing is a major deal breaker even if you chiefly game, then make sure to avoid other monitors, such as.

Asus RoG Swift PG278Q 27"
Asus Zenbook UX32VD 13.3"
BenQ XL2720Z 27"
BenQ BL3200PT 32"
BenQ BL3201PT 32" 4K
Iiyama XB2483HSU 24"
Sony 50W705B 50"
Sony 50W805B 50"
Sony 55W805B 55"
Viewsonic VX922 19"

And many more not listed.

Yup I am a full time photographer/videographer, so this Dell 30" is currently ideal but as always more screen space is needed, colour casts etc matter to me.

Do want 40" screen, do not need colour casts :(
