The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

First and foremost, this is a wonderful screen for gaming.

In my view it's the only screen size workable at 4K without having to scale your desktop (which blurs icons and applications).

However, for those wondering about how reflective the screen is, here's a pic I took earlier (yes, I was in my dressing gown)

Holy huge mirror batman

I tried taking some photos using my mobile phone that reflected reality (pun intended :)). No matter what setting I used the image on the phone just did not look like the real deal. Either too much reflection or none at all.

Unfortunately it really is the kind of thing you need to see in person to decide if you can live with it. There is a reflection but not that bad under normal conditions. IMHO it is better than the smokey/foggy look of a matt finish screen.

It's similar to many VA-panel TVs (Sony and Samsung). It has a matte finish, albeit an extremely light one (3% haze I believe). So if people are wondering if it would be suitable, they may have a TV with a comparable surface that they could look at.

Coming from a Dell 2407wfp, I think this might be too glossy for me. Back to the drawing board again :(

Can anyone who owns one of these test if they can get 75Hz at the native 4K res of 3840x2160?

I tested mine and it actually does run at 75Hz. Just ran Tomb Raider at low setting and Vsync to see the results.

Min 72
Max 78
Average 75

No tearing visible so it was definitely working. I'm using a GTX980.

When I tried 75hz, it 'worked', but dragging a window around I could see it introduced some form of judder/stutter.

Prothonotary was just no longer smooth.
