The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

oooo just got this monitor, damn its big, and i thought i would never say that coming from a 30" dell, what brightness/colour//gamma etc etc settings a people using as i don't have a calibrator,

also the monitor turns itself off when playing a game, i did read there was a fix for this but i cannot seem to find it again now i actually have one lol, also it seems to stutter a bit, i have set it to dp 1.2, do i have to do this to the gpu also for it to take effect,, if so how and where on nvidia 780ti sli.

it stutters? I'm gonna need some serious convincing to buy this. I'm close to buying but it literally needs to be the worlds best 4k monitor for me to consider it. I want the absolute best.

ok i have display port 1.2 in the options on the monitor itself, but in the information it says im running at 30hz, any suggestions, im running 780ti sli ghz editions, but different models, one gigabyte and one zotac

I had this issue yesterday, just put it down to some kind of bug. I was able to select 60 hertz in the monitor options on windows. There is such a difference between 30 and 60 hertz that you will know if you have 60 hertz or not.

I've just tried payday2 on mone seems to run find 60hz 4k res 90+ fps

Have you tried with just one card. I know that CSgo ran like a pig when I had crossfire and this is same engine isn't it?

It is the same engine, yes! I disabled crossfire and it ran even worse. with cross fire fraps was saying I was at 60fps but would occasionally boost upto 120 fps but it was like the game was lagging or something. It can't be the monitor and it can't be the game so I think its the cards. I have my 30" asus 1440p back up now and will keep my 4k boxed until I upgrade. I hope some new cards come soon :)

nope, csgo runs like a dream, constant 60fps with vsync, and only 20% usage on each gpu, must just be crossfire that has problems.

Yep. Utterly crap quality control.

They applied the plastic to the bezel, and then built the panel without giving any thought to any of the plastic getting trapped

Hey, i just got this monitor and i found the same thing with the plastic around the bezel next to the philips logo, it is a nightmare to remove and it looks terrible !! How did you manage to get rid of it??? Mines all frayed and all over the place around it, looks so tacky ;( I literally cannot get rid of it, impossible to grip and very hard to get anything that can get it out to be honest !

Use a scalpal or razor blade and run it along the edge of the logo piece, that's what I did and it looks alright now.

Definitely an odd little design flaw though.

It only seems to stutter when it's in 30Hz mode. It's not the absolute best monitor, there are issues with it.
Issues I have found are:
1:- All four corners can look a little darker due to viewing angle.
2:- If you let the PC put the monitor to sleep, it will usually wake up in 30Hz mode. I will be playing with the smart monitor software to see if that fixes it.
3:- Motion blur. This is definitely present in 60Hz mode (it's horrendous in 30Hz)

I think there may also be considerable input lag, but I can't quantify it and I've not seen any lag reviews which I think have done a completely valid test. This and the motion blur could be a settings issue.

i received the monitor this morning. so far im very happy with it. the picture is very very good and colourful. theres no input lag that i can notice.

i read on this thread that people have dark corners on their monitor, mine 100% doesn't.

Has anyone tried this with a desk mount arm yet? Like the Ergotron LX or MX, if so how is it?

I'm wondering if using the LX it's possible to rotate the monitor to portrait mode, and if the desk is up against the wall how far from the wall the monitor sits when pushed back as far as it can go.

hmm well im having a weird problem, its not massive but there, my screen very occasionally goes darker then lighter every few mins, well on desktop that is, not noticed it on games, is this an anti screen burn thing or something wrong, anyone else have this

I've put hundreds of hours into this screen and not noticed it

ive noticed this too hope its not a problem.

I must say, although this monitor is the equivalent of 4 20" HD panels stitched together, it feels bigger than that, there's a real sense of freedom, more so than I was hoping for. I've used 6 monitor setups which don't feel as free as this.
