The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Thanks again :)

Another question though if you don't mind! In terms of watching movies would a 4K TV be any better than this monitor?

only different really is some TV's have Motion / Processing flitters which makes the image run smoother.

i guess you've seen some tv specs say Motion rate 100hz or 200hz?

Yeh that's probably the first thing that comes to mind. Just really worried I'm going to miss something!

it just depends what u want a screen for. if it's for a lot of gaming / little watching movies then for the monitor. if it's for a lot of watching movies / little gaming then for the 4k tv.

So I have been informed mine is technically out of stock where I ordered but they haven't actually charged my card. Should have more in this week. The wait continues LOL

This monitor is in high demand here in the states :D

I love this screen for the size, but I'm thinking of returning it or at least just using it for films and get another screen for CSGO.

Terrible for gaming (imo).

Also, the black levels when I first turned it on were absolutely STUNNING. But that was in 30hz model. When I switched over to 60hz, its just not as good. Blacks are looking more greyish again.

Still pondering this for general use, photo and video editing, would use it along side my Dell 3008wfp.

Any input/thoughts etc on this from people who have it ? The real estate would be good for premier pro im thinking.

It's not a game for playing CSGO on, just about every review points this out. Fine for most gamers playing driving sims etc, not for people who play competitive or fast shooters.

Ohhh definitely. I know this :) I have a separate monitor if I really want to go that route already. I want this for Witcher 3, Star Citizen, etc... I need immersion.

Got a shipping date finally. I'll post my feedback end of the week WOOOOO!

Does this monitor look good at 1440p at all? In a worst case scenario when xfire doesn't work on a launch day of a game will it look like ballsac?

If you are using a nvidia card, make sure the you've set dynamic range to full in the control panel, colour options. If the card detects the monitor as a TV ( for whatever reason) it defaults to limited dynamic range, which makes blacks look greyish.

That's an almost certainty m8, AMD have been **** of late in regards to Day 1 drivers (esp Crossfire)!!! I switched from a 295x2 :D

Panel runs great at 1080p/1440p m8, I use 1440p when the games are too demanding for 4k (trying to resist a pair of Ti's atm!)
