The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Couldn't have put it better myself!

This panel plus three TITAN X = gaming heaven!

Two things of note after a week of use, I've noticed flickering very occasionally but I am using a 10ft cable so that may be a contributor.

Secondly I can notice the colour transition that people have mentioned on certain gradients that appears as a yellow streak or similar. Not enough to bother me.

Came from the ROG Swift and I have to say I'm not missing G-Sync or high refresh anywhere near as much as I did when I tried the DELL 34" 21:9 IPS.

Have to agree the 60hz isn't bothering me at all. Granted, I only came down from 96hz haha.

Thanks for the tip eyetrip, I take it you want photos of the service menus?

Also no saturation problem here, tiny bit of ghosting afterglow on the screen similar to the u2711, rare that it is that noticeable but it is there, otherwise seems good, stand is rubbish a

Yeah, if you could take photo of settings in there (before changing anything) that would be great.

Can't remember if I ever changed anything besides auto input, but I have a tendency to tinker, so probably did :D

If all you need is a desk stand, then I just got one of these... very substantial despite it being for up to 23", there is loads of vertical movement for the 40" Philips, tilt and rotate (not high enough to put the monitor in portrait) and has allowed me to put the monitor 20mm from the desk which works for me.... it could go another 140mm higher too.

Both came with more screws than a hardware shop!

And all for less than £40 delivered next day

MrPix, you're using this bracket and vesa plate with your BDM4065UC? my BDM will arrive next Monday and was wondering if I should pick up this bracket and plate .

This monitor a no go for FPS?

It has a little bit of afterglow, its not tragic but depends on how quick the FPS is and the colour palette used, similar glow to the Dell u2711, hardly noticable in most cases but there.

For stand I have a desk mount, an AVlink DM200, comes with VESA 200 adaptors and is 30quid.

Forgot to update... I was having the stupid issue where even though I had a DP cable and set the monitor to "1.2" I was unable to get over 30hz... 24hz even lol!

For those in doubt.. THE CABLE MATTERS!!!!

My ultra AV came in (dp 1.2 certified) and zero effort I was at 60hz 4k glory.

I love this monitor!!!!

I have that stand and bracket and it makes a big difference for eye level comfort. With the stock TV type static stand I found the monitor too high and even a full chair height I was staring at the middle/lower part of the screen.

This stand and bracket knocks about 2.5 inches (or more) off the monitor size.

I was having a refresh rate problem but its now fixed. Read below:
*EDIT* I think its fixed! I uninstalled the Online driver as I saw it with an exclamation mark in Device Manager, and re-installed the CD driver, again. So far I haven't had any problems with the refresh rate. It might've been the SmartControl program I installed from the Cd. I stopped it from loading at start-up and then installed the CD drivers. I can't say this fixed it but it doesn't revert to 24HZ refresh rate anymore.

I'm keeping the monitor. I'm using a profile from a review of this monitor found at TFTCentral and my colors are now rich and vibrant. The default ICC profile for this monitor don't do this monitor too much justice. ProjectCars looks >00<

Just Plug in the new compact Youview Box or a cheap tuner, job done, I am actually using a Amazon fire TV and just streaming live TV(though TV player app, does have the occasional lip sync issue, not always an issue as I don't watch it, more so listen) only problem with Amazon is it does not do full dynamic range through HDMI rather limited so looks a little washed out and the Philips doesn't seem to allow per input colours which is a shame.

Lowest price I've seen is about 550 euros(about £393) in Italy - quite a few Italian outlets have it at super low prices(including VAT) but they typically only ship to Italy, and most don't speak English.

I did find a largish retailer in the Czech Republic who have an English site, and deal with the UK, selling for £519(inc VAT and UK delivery).
