The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

I think I asked this before but can't remember. But I am looking to get a new TV which has my Xbox One connected to.

How does this compare to 4K TV's? In terms of pictures quality, input lag etc?

Thanks :)

was just about to buy it the gamut off 72% put me off, need to continue looking :-( great monitor from what I have read here and elsewhere .

72% of the NTSC colour gamut, yes. The current common standard for PC usage is sRGB which this monitor covers very nicely. All having a 100% NTSC would bring you as a PC user is an oversaturated and unrealistic representation of content, which is commonly created with the more restrictive sRGB colour gamut in mind.

I have this monitor. I play many FPS current games. I sense NO lag with my Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse. I see no visible ghosting with Project Cars racing simulating game or any other First Person Shooter game I play. I use the color profile from TFTCentral, which gives rich color profile to anything viewed on this monitor.

Thanks for the response mate.

I've just been a bit worried because people have talked about things like overshoot (i think its called) etc. I can only imagine that any TV will be worse still!

Any one fancy posting pics if this beast on ya desk.....wanna see how looks, whever its a tad too big or not

GSXR, it took me about an hour to figure how to get these pics to show on OneDrive but it worked. Here are two pics to give you an idea of the size on a desk. My desk measures 52 inches wide.

The Dell monitor I show for comparison is a 30 incher.

Cant seem to bring these up for some reason - would like to see

This monitor is so impressive at 4k. Really immersive, bright and clear. Love it.

Even though I have a G1 980ti and can run any game at 4k with maximum settings I tried 1080p and 1440p just to see what it's like.

Is it just me or is 1080p very blurry even with everything on max, for example on GTA 5 it looks pretty bad..1440p looks good though.

Are my eyes ruined now after playing in 4k or should 1080p still be pretty clear on this monitor?

The scaler isn't amazing, sit further back for 1080p :) , that is the trade off for the speed I would guess, 4k TVs that do a better scaling job have >60ms lag due to processing, playing my consoles downstairs on TV versus upstairs on the Philips you can feel the delay on the TV, makes console shooters feel heavy.

Yea 1440p scales well, looks great :) 1080p seems atrocious to me on here hahaha
I agree. I play Far Cry 4 at 1440 with this monitor. What surprises me is that disabling cross-fire in CCC settings for this game, the game plays smoother. I play with v-sync on @60. My card is R9 295X2.

WOOOOOO! My replacement BDM40654uc showed up and so far (hope it stays this way)... zero stuck pixels! Last one had 4 and 3 of them were almost dead center. No way of just "not noticing them".

I R SUCCESS

Who did the swap out? Did Phillips agree to swap it out due to the pixels or did you retrun it to ocuk under DSR (or whatever they call it now) and buy another one?

I ordered from the Rainforest. (I'm in the states). But yes I explained that I had 4 dead pixels and one of them actually looked like the screen was damaged. Worse than that I found out my unit was a returned model already. Noticed little scuffs and an outline from where someone had it mounted from the back. Very odd. They agreed immediately and the new one is 100% better :)
