Great info there. I've Just been playing about with my new PS3 tonight. Wireless set up was a doddle and streaming all my DivX films via WMP straight to my TV is brilliant. No more burning movies to disc:) Loving it so far. I've got GTA4 and Pan's Labyrinth (Blu-ray) to play with tomorrow night:)
 
Ive had my PS3 for a couple of days now and am enjoying it however one thing that anoys me, and it seems to be a PS3 exclusive game only problem
(uncharted and MGS 4) and thats the use of in game and cut scene shadowing.

Why is it all of the shadowing, especially shadows caused by light reflexion have this sharp jagged edge to them almost like razor blades, i assume its the game developers trying to make the lighting more realistic but IMO it has the opposite effect.

Its probably just because im new to the PS3 but i prefer the shadowing on X360 titles nice smooth edges, what does everybody think?
 
Any way to get the ps3 controler to work on a pc?

(vista 64 bit)

Tried the first google result but it does nothing :(
 
I don't think data is sent down the cable tbh, I think its just to charge. Ive tried loads of different drivers and tweeks in an attempt to get it working but always failed. Looking through loads of internet sites and forums hardly anyone else has got it too work either. Its possible to get them going though Yellow Dog Linux via Bluetooth, but thats a little pointless really lol enless you play Linux games. I haven't tried on Vista though with a Bluetooth receiver.
 
I got the PS3 controller to work in 32bit only but its still useless as the triggers and analogue sticks are like pressing the buttons to accelerate, no control.
 
I’m thinking of getting a Samsung SM225MD or LG and connect a PS3 via HDMI, is 22 inch (1680x1050) really too small or should I save up for a 1920x1200 24inch TV?
 
Just got mine setup yesterday and very happy, no hassle what so ever. Detected the network, WMP11 on my server and everything. Audio working via optical and video at 1080p via HDMI. So far very happy.

Just got to setup Twonky on the server and see what I can stream with it and what needs converting :)
 
Anyone know if theres any good deals around at the moment?

I've found ps3 on game with GT5, Resistance fall of man and drakes fortune for 299.99 which seems pretty good but maybe theres better :P

Does anyone know if its possible to use the wireless and ethernet connection at the same time? I wanted to do a peer to peer (ps3 to laptop) network for quicker file transfers but dont want to have to faff around with network settings each time as the ps3 connects to my wireless router upstairs.

EDIT, I have tversity set up on my laptop and main pc but its painfully slow over wifi to transfer HD material (the only stuff I am basically limited to not being able to put on fat32 ext drives)

One or the other AFAIK, but it's very quick to just switch between them. You'd be better off wiring it to the network properly, or buying some homeplugs.
 
I joined the PS3 club woo ...now to figure out just what exactly can be done with it i.e. read this rather informative sticky. Thanks! :D
 
The geographical number no longer works :mad:. But got through on the main number in about 3 mins, spoke to a nice lad who is sending me a new PS3! :D
