*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Actually the DS4 when I first looked at it I was a little unsure but I think it'll work just fine. Looks like Sony have put quite a bit of work into it, lets hope its been designed more around those with not just small hands..!!

The trackpad I'm at this point still not 100% on, but it looks like it'll be a decent controller. I'd still like to see the actual console itself though.

Ah you again.. And sooo I'll bite. Why is the DS3 so awful in your eyes? Its not awful just not as good as the 360 pad, but its not awful..!!

It's pretty poor...

1) Flimsy, inaccurate analogue sticks with slippy tops. (and they're in the wrong place).

2) Horrendously bad L2 / R2 "triggers".

3) Too small for Western hands.

4) Flimsy build quality (try twisting the controller and it'll creak like a barn door, then try it on a 360 pad!)

5) Pointless motion control that was never actually used for anything useful.

6) Those silly, rubbery "start" and "select" buttons!

The DS4 does look a lot better, but it's still not as good as the Xbox controller. And that's a fact, not a "fanboy" comment, as i'm in the majority who hold that opinion, thanks.

Don't bother. He's an Xbox fanboy/troll

Evidentially, seen his response above... What a load of complete clap trap..!! Anyhow moving on, the DS4 pad has had quite a few improvements, the triggers look miles better and they have also made improvements to the analogue sticks.

I always liked the DS3 apart from the triggers missed better grips, and the analogue thumb sticks could have been improved.

These issues looked to be addressed and now hopefully the DS4 is on par with the 360 pad or the newer xbox one pad.

Yeah I agree with him on the DS3, in my and a lot of people's opinions it is a horribly designed controller. I really hope the DS4 improves this.

His points about the DS3 are pretty accurate TBH.

They really aren't. The DS3 has several bad points, sure, but he's exaggerating more than just a little bit. He makes it sound like it isn't even fit for purpose.

If it was really that bad, everyone would have given up using them. Or they'd have been through several controllers in the lifetime of their console; I'm still on the same one I bought a few weeks after getting my first PS3, so it must be about five years old now.

I’ve still got my first playstation 3 pad before they became the DS3, the one without rumble. Its still working just fine. Had two DS3 pads since they were first released when MGS was released. Used them a lot, even used on for my PC for a while so had a lot of use. Working just fine to this day.

I got some real triggers for them both, superglued them on, took care of that annoying issue with the triggers. Hardly an ‘awful’ controller but yes did need some changes…

What a load of rubbish...

There's no need to even post counter-points because it's such obvious drivel :p

If you are really serious about those points then you must be an unco-ordinated child with rage issues and a latex allergy or something :D

You missed off point number 7 too, the controller doesn't wipe your arse for you :p

Oooo, did you get free games for your PS3? When they released the 80GB they had a price cut and added rumble didn't they?

Those were amusing times... Sony claiming "rumble isn't necessary, doesn't add anything" and then quickly backtracked! :o
