*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

My major impression of both consoles so far is "rushed" though, which is a shame.
Cant disagree with that, though it makes you wonder why it appears that way when last gen was so long - perhaps we expect too much too soon from consoles now considering how many feats we expect them to do compared to the old boxes that didnt have worry about things like online access and all the things that provides.

All I can say is that the PS4 UI at launch is far far better than what Sony did for the PS3 at launch - least it seems they have a headstart on where they need to reach...

Finally opened and setup my ps4. Bug guys I am hearing a buzzing sound as soon as I connect the power cable. I. E. Before the playstation is on. Is this normal.

It's like zzzzzzzzz

can just say this thing keeps getting better and better, both daughters were watching me play Lego and as it was time for sleep and the youngest has a routine of watching in the night garden so i decided to try out the vita link and it blew me away... even small things such as putting the system in standby.

currently on the laptop as my wife is absolutely loving knack, shes always enjoyed crash bandicoot and also played the batman games this generation and shes classing it as a mix of both, ive only played it for a short period but it does seem like a HD retro game, and the graphics are very very impressive.

the more i play i get one thing i never did from the PS3 or Xbox and thats a wow factor of next gen, i remember playing condemned on the xbox when it first came out and it had a wow factor to it but not to this level and the vita use just confirmed that for me.

and this is just the start... all i would like for this gen is a slim xbox one as i dont have room for a behemoth of that size and will take a bit of fan noise as i have volume on when i play games

I'm really feeling the "next gen" with the ps4 , in terms of graphics it is a big step up, pretty amazing what I have seen from KZ and AC4

is this taken from a perspective of having last gamed on a PS3/360 or do you have a top end PC too?
I cancelled my pre-order last week, nothing on either console looked interesting enough (via the youtube vids I watched) for me to splash out this close to xmas. Now, I'm missing the "new toy" feeling but I don't want to buy one and be left underwhelmed because I own a decent PC rig.

Look at it this way - Radeon 290X (which will prob last a year) or a PS4 - I chose the PS4 and in all honesty its the first launch day product I've bought in a LOOOOOOOONG time that I havn't regretted!

Kill zone is a great vision of what we can expect the visuals are superb, one thing we got to remember is this console is the price of a decent gfx card on the PC , think of what you getting for the money.

Am a PC gamer but I think the consoles still got the best games out , I do agree the launch lineups are not the best but still some good games out.

Coming from ps3 and 360 , don't bother if the games don't interest you , wait till next year when better games come out, infamous being one of them

From my perspective.. and im a hardcore PC gamer first.. PS4 does rock. Graphically its close to PC but it isnt as good, ive heard some say BF4 looks as good on it as PC and runs smooth as etc... It does look good but not as good, and in some hectic parts on 64 player servers i do notice frame rate drops.. but Console only gamers would probably not notice that i assume.

Basically i can actually play console now without being frustrated with how far behind they are to PC and how unsmooth they used to be. So i deffo reccomend one to anyone!

I had a pretty decent pc, 6950 unlocked to 6970, i5 2500k at close to 5ghz, 8 gb ram etc etc and to be honest wouldn't compare a console to a pc, i game on pc's for completely different reasons than i do on a console.

I got a ps4 because i wanted to enjoy sports games, 3rd person games and a blanket ease of use from my couch. The ps4 seems to tick all those boxes with the promise of some tasty titles in the near future to fulfill my needs delivering with great visuals in regards to what consoles could and can do.

I use pc's for fps or immersing in rpg's focused in front of a medium size screen sitting no more that 2 foot away. The two serve different purposes IMO.

not seen AC4 yet but KZ and BF4 have astounded me with the graphics, yes bf4 does need work from dice/ea but so did bf2/bf3 hell even bf1942 did back when i gamed on a pc

AC4 looks nice I guess but nothing like KZ, you can see it's a cross gen title even if it is 1080p.

So am I reading this right. The mic is in the pad and you can plug headphones in. Does that emit only in game chat or chat and game audio?
