Console arrived today at 1, didn't get it hooked up until 6 as i was decorating the living room. stuck fifa in and had a quick bash but i have been hammering resogun and loving it. Haven't opened killzone yet, think im going to try warframe a bit later first.

Glad it is all working though, touch wood all is good :D

The android app is sooo flaky. Keeps disconnecting. Anyone else have the same problems?
Oh and Need for speed is soo boring. I think I'll trade it in tomorrow.

All those greedy people buying up to sell them on the bay are getting just deserts as the last one went for 400 and that was the killzone bundle.

Not really, depending on where they are. Most are going around the £450ish mark, with some still touching £500 for KZ bundles. Some are not even getting bidded on for £500. Just depends how desperate someone is for one. This doesn't mean the people buying them won't have pre-orders coming next week and just want their's now. They can always sell the pre-order and pocket the difference, or make a little profit.
 
I've not had any luck with remote play over an external wifi. Just doesn't work.

Even connected Without the "direct connection" setting on it is pig slow.

The only way for it to actually work as intended is with wifi direct turned on and sitting fairly close to the PS4. Bit disappointing but expected.
 
I didn't realise the android app can switch on remotely and you can download stuff. This has probes been possible for ages but as I said Ive been pc for last 5 years
 
Anyone know how I can get that app to make shape for the playroom using my phone? Cant find the option in the PS app...

The mic comms are still not up to to Xbox Live standards imo for one simple reason: lack of background noise cancellation. I can hear other people's speaker audio constantly. So annoying. I did discover that the older (non EarPod) iPhone headphones work great with the DS4 though. The mic is pretty good and I think does a better job of cancelling background noise out. They are also stereo headphones so work nicely for gaming.

Not got a link to which ones you mean? I think I need a stereo headset to connect to my DS4 sooner rather than later while decent over the ear headsets turn up...

Not much of a profit though after ebay/paypal get their greedy mitts on it.

Also my first console in a few years as well. i will be on soon so i will add/accept mate.

I really dont agree with all this extortionate sale on ebay but hey ho if people will buy people will sell. The one thing that really peeved me off is people trying to sell the reservation codes for argos. They haven't even parted with cash and they are trying to profit form a shortage of stock!
 
Well after playing it pretty solidly the last few days my impressions are pretty good. I've had the Xbox One a week now as well.

I love the DS4 controller, I absolutely hated the DS1/2/3 pads. They just felt like childs toys and not gamepads. This feels weighty, the triggers are nice to use and the pad fits my hands much better.

But I've had quite a few crashes on the PS4 so far. Servers crashing in BF4, game lock ups in it too whilst inviting friends or friends inviting me.

Games seem to lock up occasionally when going back to the dashboard then going back into the game.

That said it's locking up the game/app that's open not the entire console which is a plus.

My overall impression of the PS4 so far is... "rushed". The dashboard and general UI isn't great, the lack of an ability to snap or even order/reorder things is pretty bad.

The PSN has improved an awful lot and the audio in parties is pretty good, comparable to Xbox Live at least anyway. The major advantage it has over the Xbox One right now is that the friends list is easier to use and that it actually works pretty well.

I've streamed and recorded some gameplay videos and they are much better quality than the Xbox One, by quite some way to be honest.

My major impression of both consoles so far is "rushed" though, which is a shame.
