Would that work if you got BF4 and NfS on PS3? Then upgraded them via Amazon to the PS4 versions?

Damn NfS is so expensive at Amazon...

Already said it a few posts ago but I think the stock drive is fast enough.

What price range would good 2tb hard drives cost for the ps4. I have more than half my drive full already.

I dunno the stock drive is pretty slow lol. Even an SSHD offers massive improvement over the stock drive.

If you can get an SSD in their it is worth it. Even if it has to be a smaller size, and just delete older games. The boot time, load time, installs. texture loading, no heat / noise. It is a massive upgrade, just like SSD is in PC. 500GB SSD's are more affordable each day.

Trim isn't really needed, as the PS OS, doesn't work in the same way a traditional PC OS does. Not as demanding on the SSD. It's own garbage collection will work as well.

Is there any point driving around the supermarkets to look for stock or is it a non starter?

Reading that Sony has promised a substantial stock boost in the next few weeks, glad they recognise this is the time to really go for it and build a large user base before the Xbox has a chance to hit back.

That wasn't a fanboy comment, just makes good business sense for them

Yeah you might find some if you have a look around. Mate of ours managed to order from catalog, may be worth a shot if you don't find any local..

yeah all you need is either of those 3 games on xbox or ps3 to upgrade to get £37 in vouchers.

that deal is the cheapest way to get one of those games if you dont have it already.

i just sent my copy of fifa off yesterday, going to get £37 of vouchers for it off BF4.

then i will wait til january before buying fifa 14 for ps4.

I suppose if you have the money it might be worth it in the long run.. For some reason with the ps4 already seeming very fast as it is id probably rather spend the money on some games or something.
I do have an SSD on the pc though but thats mainly just for windows and yes its amazingly quick but getting one for the ps4 your going to at least need a 500GB one which takes away the fact of what a good price the ps4 was when your adding another £300? to it.
If money isn't an option though then yeah... get the SSD and the games :D I just don't feel the difference is going to mean much in anything apart from being a little quicker loading maps in MP games.

no point discussing SSD's in consoles tbh, they aren't worth it.

it's like putting a formula one engine inside a fiesta, sure performance will be improved but it's a huge waste of money.

how fast was the hybrid drive in comparison to the normal drive? im guessing like 5% faster?

that may possibly be worth it, but tbh why bother, it's a console, just enjoy the games performance tweaks just isn't what consoles are about.

had my Ps4 delivered 29th been away until last night, missus has hid it as its a birthday gift for my birthday tomorrow. obviously I behaved like a child and tired to find it last night whilst she was in bed, found it, its been wrapped up doh.. so no sneaky peak for me till tomorrow eve it seems lol

itching to have a play with killzone and resogun...

Yeah the larger SSD's are still pricey, the prices are coming down all the time though.. Do get some decent 500GB prices now..

I'm looking forward to HDD dying out tbh, it's like Beta Max VS BluRay at this point, Archaic. Obviously it has it's place for data servers, but for the consumer PC / Gaming devices the sooner HDD gets phased out the better, it's the oldest / limiting factor in media devices. The transition to an SSD only solution and more affordable larger drives would be welcomed.

Spot on boom. I get friends constantly saying they going to add new ram and a new CPU to make the pc they use for web browsing faster but the best thing anyone can add is an ssd as it makes everything so responsive. To be fair to the ps4 though its a lot faster and snappier than the one even though its a mech drive

On the HDD discussion. I upgraded to a 1TB SSHD straight away, £80 fom ocuk. I'm glad I did as a lot of people already worried about their drives filling up. Looking at the benchmark tests it was suggested that the SSHD was the best buy as the performance increases were noticeable whilst you were also increasing your storage capacity.

Can anyone recommend a 1tb Hybrid drive? don't think I can fork out for a full SSD.

I bought this one. It works just fine, but it is no longer on offer at £80 :(

Anyone noticed that the PS app switches on your PS4 for you when you open it up - I presume it only does this when you are on the same WIFI network...

Looking at my storange information it appears I have accidentally filled up 2gb of space with screenshots and videos! Where can I see/watch them and how the hell have I done this? Just by pressing the share button?

It seems to automatically capture some games. Look in your profile, there is a captures icon. You can delete them there. I have no idea how to turn this off though.

Can find no way round my TV picture delay issue, I've tried setting everything manually but to no avail it still sits there for close to a minute when switching sources / to a dvd / blu-ray, try to bring up the tv menu during this time and it closes again after about a second.
