*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

The charging dock for the PS4 is brilliant, just usually stick it back on there after playing. Very neat and tidy and know exactly where my controllers are rather than leave them lying around and then have the wife moan about making a mess!

Yes, my iPad barely charges on a 3m USB cable plugged in to the wall.

But you're talking about a device that optimally takes 2A, DS4 is 800mA

I wasn't up to date on micro usb cable standards but have just checked, and assuming the worst type of cable is used, you'll notice a 10% voltage drop over 3m when charging the DS4

Using the same details, the ipad would have almost 26% drop

But c'mon, "barely" :p

Just a heads up, ASDA has plenty of stock again it seems. Just managed to bag myself one for collection tomorrow after saying yesterday that I doubt I will get one till February now :D.

THIS!

only fault i can find with it is sometimes its a tad fiddly to get the pad aligned 1st time, but thats probably more me being a baffoon than a fault with the dock :D

Yes barely, it can be on charge for 2-3 hours and charge 30% of the battery.

Makes two of us then, first few times it was easy but seems to get harder every time now!

I know :(

I still went off the worst cables to try and get as close as possible but meh

Did you study engineering too? Got some weird flashback then of you mentioning it :D

Computer systems engineering.

The most useful thing I learnt is that theory has little correlation to practical results. :p

Picked up killzone today. Looks nice but can't really get into yet. The fact it keeps crashing isn't adding to its charm either. Just deleted it and reinstalled to see if that fixes all the crashes.

That doesn't sound right, I've seen no crashes from Killzone at all.

Any views on Blacklight Retribution? I've been bad enough buying a ps4 now when I've got final year exams in January so I'm holding off from buying BF4 till February and sticking to the free games. War Thunder looks very good but I do like a good fps and blacklight looks ok.
