60 million with the first ball on Pinball Arcade, cue me getting a bit anxious. Final score 64 million.

It's so annoying isn't it. Most of my scores on Zen Pinball 2 are 95% with 1 ball. The other balls do sod all.

I got 103million with 1st ball on spiderman, also unlocking 2 extra balls. I finished with 108million somehow. 5million with 4 balls...

With me, I think it's just that I realise how long it's just took to get that score and my brain subconciously sabatages it from there so I am not sitting there for 90 minutes! lol I swear it's that, and NOT just luck with ball number 1... ;)

Just use any phone charger.

I know

My point, which I've already clarified, was Sony should provide a longer one as standard in the box, not rely on users "borrowing" one from another device just so they can sit more than a dwarfs-length from their TV.

However, using "any" phone charger is no use if you only use iDevices :p

The battery in the DS4 is naff, especially compared to the replaceable AAs in the XO pad, and the inability to switch the LEDs off does it no favours.

However, the fact you can charge in standby now makes it a non-issue IMO. I just wish Sony would provide a longer USB cable, as the one in the box is only any good if you're sat right on top of the TV and want to play whilst charging, same with the PS3. I sit 6ft away and it doesn't reach unless I lean forwards.

Surely you have a socket or could run an extension near where you sit?

Therefore any modern phone charger should work, I have no wires coming out the PS4 apart from HDMI and the power leads at the back.

Makes it look a lot better than having wires coming out the front which look terrible but I know are essential for easy plug and play.

No sockets where my sofa is, and why would I go to the trouble of running an extension lead just to charge a pad?

I said originally it wasn't a problem for me, if my pad cuts out I'll either stop playing, lean forward or sit on the floor. None of these are "ideal", but whatever, it's not enough of an issue for me to buy a longer lead (I don't have one to hand already).

My issue is that some people moaned the PS3 charging lead was too short, it wouldn't have taken much for them to include a longer lead with the PS4.

Surprised I've had to repeat myself now 3 times, especially as I said it wasn't an issue anyway

You can buy longer leads off ebay for pennies I imagine, I did it for the PS3 so I could get a longer lead for Play TV so it reached the aerial.

Sony have to keep the costs down because they are sold at a loss, so they have to make cutbacks everywhere they can.

That's why the included headset is so cheap.

When not in use.

You also mentioned 4 hours; quite easy to spend double that time in a game on a day off. Or at least, it seemed that way when I was playing The Last Of Us.

Therefore any modern phone charger should work, I have no wires coming out the PS4 apart from HDMI and the power leads at the back.

It's not like phone charger cables are any longer these days. My Nexus 4 cable is hilariously short.

Well I have an extension plugged in which is right beside me on the floor which has my phone charger, fan and lamp plugged into it.

This is where I sit to play the console and therefore theoretically I could have it plugged in 24/7 without having to run a wire from the console across the room (the extension is hidden and goes around the room edge).

This works best for me, obviously in a different room, I may not set it up like so and just run a lead from my PC instead which charges the controller whenever I turn the PC on.

There are so many ways to do it, I think using the console itself unless you have a charging stand is probably the worst way to do it IMO, especially if your considering running a 10 foot cable across the middle of a room.

The longer the cable, the weaker the charge, as said above. It get's to the point of having a long cable that the charge itself becomes ineffective.

Hence the shorter cables for shorter charge times.
What?

I've used 2 USB extension cables plus the original ps3 cable to charge a ps3 controller whilst playing it. It charges fine. And also took no longer than charging with just a short usb cable.
Explain that. ;)

just plug the DS4 into the console at the end of play and it will charge whilst in standby mode.

not had a single instance where I can't play due to lack of charge on the DS4 as I always plug them into the console after each time I stop playing..

Did you have the controller lower down than the PS3? Gravity would have helped the electricity to flow to the controller in that case. ;)

PS3 digital to PS4 digital is £9.99.

£17.99 if you have PS+, then £9.99 for the upgrade to PS4.

Wow that is quite the bargin. I am tempted even though I own it on the PC (well got it free).

I am finding it hard to believe that anyone could say it looks rubbish either, even factoring in comparisons to other games.

Ahahahaha :p

Are people really thinking that there's a noticeable difference between a 1m cable and a 3m one?

I doubt it's anything close to a 1% slower charge if it was 10m!!

At least in my experience anyway :o
